The next morning, Mara woke up in a mess of bedsheets and arms. Her first thought was Shawn, she has gotten drunk last night, maybe she called Shawn and he stayed the night.

She turned around to face him, her heart stopping in her chest at the sight of Reid's face. She shot up, looking around the room for her clothes. She pushed her hands through her hair, utter confusion filling her head at how they ended up here.

She pulled the sheets around her as Reid stirred, eyes widening at his current position. He jumped up, covering himself with the comforter.

"Did we..." Reid trailed off, looking for his clothes in a panicked mess.

"Yeah." Mara said, struggling to meet his eyes.

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure!"

Mara quickly grabbed some clothes from the closet before moving towards the bathroom. "I'll-uh-I'll see you at work!"

Mara disappeared into the bathroom, closing the door and pressing her back against it, covering her mouth with her hand. What had they done?

Mara started going over the events of the night before, closing her eyes. She remembered getting back to her apartment and Reid kissing her. She remembers taking her clothes off and how bold Reid was but after that, things got patchy. However, she does remember the way his lips felt on her neck, his hands gripping her hips, her back arching in the best orgasm she ever had.

She heard her door open and shut and she let out a sigh, knowing how this was going to affect their friendship. She was going to lose her best friend. Due to one drunken night.

She took a shower and stepped out, wiping the mirror. That's when she noticed the dark marks on her neck. She let out a gasp as her fingers worked over the patchy skin. "Fuck, Reid."

She got dressed and covered the hickeys as best as she could before stepping out the bathroom. She smelled coffee in her apartment and she was nervous that Reid had stayed but she went into her kitchen only to find he'd switched on the coffee maker before he left.

She smiled softly before making a to-go cup and leaving for work. When she walked through the doors, she looked at Reid's desk, finding him there, a book in his hand.

He leaned back into his chair, his shirt coming down ever so slightly but she caught it. A dark mark on his neck and red scratches on his shoulder.

"Oh my god." She mumbled underneath her breath, running into someone as her eyes never left Reid.

Morgan caught her shoulders, furrowing his eyebrows at her odd expression and the amount of concealer on her neck.

"Long night?" Morgan asked her.

She nodded before moving past him and to her desk. She sat down, her back facing Reid. For the next thirty minutes, she convinced herself not to let this ruin their friendship.

She rolled over to her desk as he pulled Tums from his desk drawer and she took it as a conversation starter. "Dairy? Again?"

"Sorry," he replied, popping a few into his mouth. "I love dairy."

While Mara was having that long conversation with herself, Reid was sitting behind her, having the same exact conversation. They both relied on each other too much to let having sex ruin their connection.

Lots of friends had sex, right?

They both looked up and met each other's eyes and suddenly, they were in agreement. Although, deep down, both of them didn't want to forget the night they shared but it was easier than admitting what they did and making things a lot more confusing than they already were.

"You know, approximately sixty-five percent of the human population has lactose intolerance but about two-thirds of that percentage continue to have dairy."

"You have to be apart of the two-thirds, don't you?"

"You're apart of the measly thirty-five percent that isn't lactose intolerance."

"I'm sorry," Mara chuckled. "My body isn't a wuss."

Suddenly, Reid reached forward, fingers brushing her neck. His eyebrows furrowed as Mara moved from his touch. "I did that."

"There's a lot stuff you did last night."

"You remember?" He asked her.

"You don't?"

"No, I do," he quickly said. "I just didn't realize how..."

"Rough." Mara finished, chuckling.

"I'm sorry."

"Trust me," she smirked and stood up, starting to follow the team to the conference room. "You've got nothing to apologize for."

They didn't want to remember that it happened nor let it happen again but Mara liked teasing and watching the pink creep onto his cheeks.
