Third Person POV

Half an hour later, Chaewon had already fallen asleep as she was tired after playing. Felix on the otherhand was still hyper. The mischevious kid was drawing pictures of radishes on his twin sister's  face while trying to hold in his laughter. Before he could draw more, the door of their bedroom creaked open, causing him to quickly hide evidence of his 'crime'.

"Is Chaewon sleeping?" their mom asked softly as she entered.

Felix replied with a nodded.

"Ahhh Then I guess she can't come along with us to buy the gift then" their mom whispered as she lovingly stroke Chaewon's hair "So it's a date between you and me, Felix"

"Y-Yes" The young boy blushed at the word 'date'. "I'm a mannnn eomma" He declared as he furrowed his brows. Their mother just laughed at his adorable antics.

The mother and son duo were now at the clothing store, choosing what to buy for their husband and father's birthday. After going through piles and piles of clothing. they still could not find the right birthday present. Just then something caught Felix's eye. The young boy ran towards it and quickly took it before bringing it back to his mom.

"Eomma eomma" He tugged her shirt "How about this?"

Felix was holding a long red wool scarf while beaming brightly. As it was winter, the weather was cold and the scarf seemed to be able to provide enough warmth.

"Wow That's a great choice darling" She patted his head "I bet Appa will love it"

She then took it from him and proceeded to go to the counter to pay for it while young Felix followed from behind with a proud grin.

Little did they know that someone was monitoring each and everyone of their moves from afar.

After paying for the present, the two got back into their car. As it was getting dark and the temperature was below freezing, the roads were almost clear. Almost as in their sleek black car was the only one on the slippery road.

"Eomma eomma" Kim Felix excitedly called his mom "When I get back home, I'm going to boast to Chaewon about how I chose Appa's birthday present hehe"

"Sure sure" His mom smiled in amusement at her children's friendly rivalry. Although the twins were always competing or arguing with each other, she knew that deep inside them, their bond and love for each other was boundless. These fights they get into is just their way of showing affection for each other.

Just then a loud boom was heard from the car's tyre as the car shook from left to right. The driver seemed flustered as well.

"What's going on??!" the twins' mom frantically asked the driver while terrified Felix held onto her arm.

"I-I dont k-know ma'am" The driver replied as he struggled to steer the car from falling off the road "It's as if s-someone shot the c-car's tyre from afar"

"What?!" she exclaimed. Her focus returned to her son who was already trembling and on the verge of tears. "Don't be scared baby. Eomma will keep you safe". Although she said those words to reassure her son. there was uncertainty in her voice.

"I-I'm not s-scared...I'm a-a m-man" Felix said although his voice and eyes were shaking.

A few seconds later, the car went off track and flipped upside down beside the road. Smoke came gushing out from the car, mixing in with the cold winter breeze. It took a while before another boom along with fire sparks bursted through the flipped car.

Chaewon finally woke up from her slumber as she sat up and rubbed her eyes. She saw that the room was empty and came to the conclusion that her mom and brother already left while she was asleep. She pouted as she realized that but she couldn't blame them as she was the one who fell asleep. Staggering, she went out into the living room when she heard hushes of whispers coming from there.

"Appa?" she called out softly but got no response in return. She slowly approached the place. Peeking into the living room, she saw her father lying down on the sofa.

However, he was not alone. Squatting down next to her father's face and luciously touching his face was a woman. Above all, it was a woman she was oddly familiar with but could not put a name. Chaewon chose not to enter and observed from after. She wished she did not do that because the next scene which unfolded before her traumatized her for life.

The woman leaned in and kissed Mr.Kim. He kissed back. The young girl just stared with wide eyes as the two adults passionately made out. She felt betrayed. Chaewon was young but she wasn't dumb. She knew her dad was cheating on her mom. Unable to take it anymore, she entered the living room stomping her feet loudly to make her prescence known. The two people infront of her abruptly stopped whatever they were doing.

"C-Chaewon" Her father looked at her shocked. He felt ashamed that his daughter had to find him in this situation.

The woman looked behind her and saw the hatred in Chaewon's eye. Only then Chaewon realized who the woman was. She was Secretary Park who was the most trusted person by the Kim family. Turned out she wasn't as trusting as she looked.

"H-Hey Chaewon. It's not w-what it looks like" her father tried to reason with her but Chaewon was not buying it. Afterall, she saw everything.

Just then a ring was heard from Mr.Kim's cellphone, breaking the tension in the atmosphere. He quickly picked up the call. Even from where Chaewon was standing, she could hear the loud sirens from the other side of the call.

She saw how her father's face got extremely pale as the call ended. Chaewon raised a questioning brow.

"E-Eomma and Felix..." He said as his body start to shook.

Hearing their names, Chaewon's heart start to race anxiously. Gathering all her courage, she asked.

"Wh-hat's wrong with them"

"T-They're d-d-dead"

As soon as Chaewon heard those words, her whole crumbled. Her father was a cheater and her mother and brother were dead. As all of those start to sink in, she felt her head go light as darkness consumed her sight.
