Logan sighed and tapped his fingers on the counter, letting his mind wander. He didn't do it often, but when he had some down time between customers, it was easy enough to get distracted.
It wasn't that he didn't enjoy his job, but sometimes it got very slow, and he got bored. Running a business took a lot out of him, and he was grateful to have a manager to help him run it all. If it weren't for Virgil, Logan would have lost his mind before he'd even begun his business.
His business consisted of a small coffee shop, with a small doorway leading into a small back room with three soundproof rooms. A male, a female, and a non-gender specific room. They were available to be rented out for two hours at a time, maximum. And the customers would be able to nap, or cuddle, or talk in the quiet of a room.
There were different prices depending on the customers plans, but all in all, Logan had started to get a big hit with Virgil's suggestion. In addition to the rooms, if a customer had an exceedingly positive response and nap for the full two hours, they would get their money back, and if they ended up not being able to use the full two hours, they would get their money reimbursed for the time they didn't use.
Logan sighed and watched the customer come out of the back room and he wished them a good day, before turning back to Virgil.
"Why don't you go home? It's a slow day and I'm sure I can handle it from here on out."
Virgil shrugged and looked around. "Boyfriend said he'd turn up, hasn't yet, I'll wait for him," they mumbled in their somewhat broken English.
Logan cringed and nodded, smiling at them. "If that's what you wish, then I shall be taking a break."
"Alright. Have fun."
Logan rolled his eyes and left them to it, going into the small employee area. He poured himself a cup of coffee before hiding in the reserved for employees sound proof area. He sighed to himself and lay in the beanbags, pulling his phone out and scrolling through his social media, mood dropping as he saw all the couples.
He wanted that. Someone to spend his time with and go on dates with. But, no one really wanted to be with him, all his dates fell through or people seemed to just not be interested in him.
All too soon, his break was over and he went back to the front counter, smiling fondly as he watched Virgil with their boyfriend.
"Virgil, go home," Logan called over to them, smiling fondly.
"Are you sure? I don't mind staying."
"Virgil, trust me, I have it under control. I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah. I think I'll be in." They smiled and waved goodbye, walking out with Their boyfriend.
Logan sighed softly and leaned against the counter, tuning out and not really paying attention when the bell rang above his head.
"Excuse me? Can I get a cup of hot chocolate?" A soft voice spoke from across the counter, trying not to be too abrasive.
Logan looked up and blushed, feeling guilty for leaving the handsome customer waiting.
"A hot chocolate? Coming right up." Logan smiled to himself and made up the drink, turning to hand it back to the customer.
"How are you today, Logan?"
"I'm good, Patton, and yourself?"
"It's going great. Say, uh, are you still on for that date in a few hours?"
"I wouldn't miss it." Logan smiled wider and leaned over the counter, pressing a soft kiss to Patton's lips. "Are you going to hang around, or are you going for a while?"
"I'd like to hang around, maybe talk, if you want?"
"That would be most pleasant."
Patton nodded and moved to a booth in the corner, and Logan felt his heart swell slightly. He and Patton had been seeing one another for the past few months and Logan realised it was getting pretty serious.
They spent most dates in the cafe, hiding in the sound proof rooms, cuddling and talking. Logan's arm would usually be around Patton's shoulders, and Patton would have laced their fingers together, playing with their fingers with his free hand.
Logan made his way over to Patton's booth, a cup of coffee in his hands.
"So, Patton, How has work been?"
"Honestly? I've been really disliking it lately... a new worker came in and is taking over everything. All my jobs are no longer mine and I'm unable to really do anything for fun. I just don't like it..."
"Have you considered getting a new job?"
"Of course I have, but it's just not the same. I've been there for years and I was on track to be manager, and now... I've lost it."
"If you consider changing jobs, I'm sure you could stay here for the time being, until you get a better job?"
"Thank you, Logan. I'll think about that." Patton reached over and laced their fingers together, smiling softly.
Logan smiled and drank his coffee, continuing to talk with Patton, and serve customers.
Before long, the store was closed and Patton and Logan were able to take their few hours together, in the relaxing area, and just cuddling.
Logan lay on his side, his arm draped over Patton's shoulder. Patton cuddled close to him, playing with their fingers and looking up at Logan.
Logan smiled and tangled their legs together, leaning down and pressing a soft kiss to Patton's lips, holding him close for a while.
Patton was the one to pull away and look at him, clearly debating whether or not to ask Logan what he wanted.
"Logy?"
"Yes, Patton?"
"Would you maybe consider being my boyfriend?"
"I've considered it a few times. Why?"
"Oh, well... I meant maybe that you and I could become boyfriends and take the relationship further?"
Logan looked at him and frowned, tightening his hold on Patton slightly. "This isn't a joke, is it?"
"What? No! Do you really think I'm that harsh?"
"No. No, of course not. How could I be so foolish?"
"So, do you want to?"
"Yes. Of course I do."
Patton smiled and kissed Logan excitedly, accidentally clashing their teeth together. He giggled and cupped Logan's cheek, scanning his face fondly.
"I'm really glad." Patton hugged him tightly and kissed Logan's cheek.
"Me too. Now I can finally get Virgil to stop nagging me about the whole dating situation," Logan laughed. "And I'm glad you like me as much as I like you."
Patton smiled and cuddled into Logan's chest, slowly drifting off, with Logan's hand running through his hair.
Logan smiled and let himself fall asleep, not caring about Virgil opening the next morning and seeing them cuddled together on the floor, and it being perfect blackmail material.
