Alex's POV

Why did this have to happen? To us, of all families, just wanted a nice, happy family. We never thought that this would happen, but now that we're here, I have a decision to make.

Denis left it up to me, which for one was a bad idea, how would I be able to make a good decision with the fate of our children? I decided to try and save her, because if they both survive, it would be a miracle. All we have to do now, is wait.

Gabbi's POV

Oh gilbert. Why did this have to happen to this innocent family? Alex just had three children and now he has to decide if he wants to save his daughter and risk his youngest son's life, or let her die.

He decided to try to save her, and all we can do is wait. Denis is holding hands with Alex, who fell asleep, trying to clear his mind from all the pressure and stress.

Denis' POV

The doctor came back into the room a few hours after the surgery, Alex had woken up an hour before she came in. She has tears in her eyes, and everyone braces themselves for the news.

"What do you want first, the good or bad news?" She asks.

"Good," Alex whispers, which everyone barely heard.

"Okay, your daughter did survive, but, she had to take both kidneys, because your youngest son was too weak to go through the surgery, and when we found out, it was too late to reverse the damage. He couldn't survive with one kidney, but he was the only person who could be a donor, so, unfortunately, he didn't make it," the doctor says, then leaving the room in silence.

You could feel the heartbreak and agony in the room, with tears pouring down everyone's faces, the most coming from Alex's face. He squeezed my hand, and I squeezed back, letting him know that he wasn't alone.

Sub's POV

With good news, there is always bad news. You never know what it is until it happens. A week after the surgery, we were allowed to take the babies home, and they thrived. We named our daughter Angelica, and Ethan and Sketch named their boy Kalen, and their daughter Olive. Denis and Alex named their youngest son, who died but still needed a name, Evan, and their oldest son Parker. They named their daughter Jaden. 

When the children were 6 months old, we had a funeral for Evan, and we said our goodbyes. His siblings even said their goodbyes, by gently patting his grave and quietly babbling. It was as if they knew that he was their brother and that life would never be the same without him.

Alex hid in his room for a week after that. He felt as if it was his fault that Evan died, and he picked the replacement. Jaden surprisingly pulled him out of his room and got him to forgive himself for what had happened.

Forgiven but never forgotten.

Ethan's POV

2 years after the funeral, Alex and Denis got married. Sketch and Ethan's children, Kalen and Olive, walked down the aisle together and were a part of the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Parker and Angelica were the ring barriers and Jaden was the flower girl, in honor of Evan.

Everyone cheered as they kissed, and the kids all giggled and clapped for them. At the reception, there was a song dedicated to Evan, where Alex and Denis danced with Jaden and Parker. There where many songs where just the kids danced, and everyone laughed and watched the kids dance around like no one was watching.

This, is probably one of the best days of our lives.
