You Are The Only Exception:Ch 15 {Teacher/Student Relationship}

Start from the beginning

a mistake, coming here." I said, softly.

"God! You know what, I don't want you staying with me anymore!" I
felt my eyes widen. "I don't care how you get home! You can walk for
all I care!" After he said that he turned around, and went back inside,
without even looking back at me.

I felt my throat tighten, and it felt dry. I felt a tear roll down my cheek.
I felt alone, and I had to walk home, which was about seven miles, or
so.

I started walking for about thirty minutes, until a black charger pulled
on the side of the road. The driver door opened, and I stopped walking.
I soon noticed, who it was.

Riley.

"Michelle, what are you doing. I thought you were suppose to be with
Everett." He said, walking over to me.

I looked down, and my hair curtained my face. I didn't want him to see
my red eyes. I felt his hand on my chin, and he tilted it up.

"What happened?" he face was full of concern, and I felt the tears
streaming down my face.

"We had a fight. He told m-me I c-couldn't stay, a-and that I-I should
walk h-home." I said, as best as I could, and I started sobbing.

Riley cupped my face with his hands, and kissed my forehead, and
hugged me. "Shhh it's okay." He said, while running his hands up
and down my back. "Come on, I'll take you home."

--------------------

We were in front of my house in no time.
"Thanks Riley." I said softly.

"Michelle, look at me." I lifted my head, and turned to look at him.
"What Everett did,... he was an asshole."

"It was my fault." I said above a whisper.

"Michelle, you asked a couple of questions. He got pissed off about
it, and told you to walk home. That's fucked up."

I nodded weakly, and put on a fake smile. "Thanks, again." I opened
the door, and got out.

"No problem." he said, and smiled.

I closed the door, and headed for the porch. I prayed to god that my
key's were in my pocket. I felt around, and sighed when I felt them.
I unlocked the door, and went inside quickly. I took a deep breathe
of what home, smelled like, and smiled a little.

I went upstairs to my room, and went to my bed, replaying the events
that had happened today.

---------------------

It's been a couple of day's since I last seen him. I never answered
his calls, or read any of his messages. It was midnight, and I was
lying on the couch, watching TV, and I quickly fell asleep.

---------------------

I heard a knock on the door, and I blinked my eyes frequently to get
them adjusted. I looked at the clock on the wall to see that it was
almost six in the morning. The knock quickly went into pounding,
and I went to the front door shaking. I looked through the peep-hole,
but saw no one.

I unlocked the door slowly, and turned the door knob, and opened
the door.

There before me stood Everett.

"W-what are you d-doing here?" I stammered.

"I need to talk to you." He said, while leaning in, and I noticed that his
eye lids were droopy. I smelt alcohol on his breath, and leaned away.
I noticed that he was about to fall forward, and caught him.
"Michelle. You smell nice." I heard him murmur.

"Yeah, its called a shower."

I sighed, and started to pull him along with me towards the couch. He
quickly became cumbersome to hold, but we finally made it to the
couch, and I placed him on it.

As soon as his head hit the couch cushion, I heard the soft sound
of him breathing.

I shook my head. 'I can't believe I just did this.' I thought to myself.
I grabbed a blanket from behind me, and cover him.

I sat down on the recliner, and gazed out the window into the moon
lit sky, that was slowly changing into and purple, and orange sky.

---------------------

It was now six in the afternoon, and I stayed awake, waiting for him
to wake up, and also watching how the moon, and sun slowly
switched places.

I turned my head towards Everett to see that he was waking up. He
blink his eyes constantly, and then they focused on me. He sat up
fast, and groaned. I smiled slightly, and his eyes were on me again.

"I brought you some water, I thought you might be thirsty when
you woke up." I said, while gesturing to the water bottle in front of him.
"Oh, and an ibuprofen." I stood up and walked towards him, and opened
my hand that held the pill.

He took the pill, and drank his water. "I'm sor--"

"Save it. You can go now." I said, while looking at the floor.

"Not without you. You shouldn't be alone in such a huge house."

"And being with you is safe."

"Safer."

"I-"

"Please, let me finish." I looked up at him, and he continued. "I shouldn't
have told you told walk home, it was fucked up for me to say that to you.
I should have told you that I had a girlfriend, I dumped her the same day.
I'm so sorry, Michelle." He said, and smiled slightly.

I didn't noticed him walking towards me, and I was wrapped in an
embrace. I heard him groan, and pulled away.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

He was bent over a little. "Yeah, it's just that I got a lovely visit from
Riley the other day." he said, and smirked. "I opened the door, and
he was kneeling, and junked punched me in my man business, and
in the gut." His smirk grew wider. "and said I was fucked up."

"Well next time I see Riley, I'll have to say thank you." I said, and
smiled. "Come on, let's go put some ice on that." I said, and
started towards the kitchen.

I turned around, and saw that he had followed. I grabbed a ziploc
bag and put some ice in it, and poured in a little water. I turned
around to see that he was taking off his shirt. I swallowed hard, and
turned back towards the bag, and zipped it shut.

I grabbed the bag, and turned around again to see that he was
now leaning against the counter, and I finally noticed, the huge
bruise on his lower stomach.

"Here." I said, and threw him the ice bag.

He caught it with ease, and placed it on his stomach. I leaned on the
counter near me, and looked away.

'I know it would be crazy of me to go back with him, but what if my
mom finds out I'm at home alone.' I thought and sighed.

"What?" I heard him say.

I turned my head, and looked at him. "I can't believe I'm doing this."
I murmured.

"Let's go." he said, and smirked at me.

------------------

The next thing I know I found myself stepping into his room. I sighed.
'I'm so stupid.' I thought to myself, and shook my head. I went to
go sit on the couch, but slowly found myself lying on it instead.

I slowly felt my eyes grow heavy, and I finally closed them.

'Michelle.' I heard someone say, a soothing, velvety voice. So familiar.

I felt myself being lifted up, and I groaned. I felt myself bury my face in
the crook of their neck. I breathe in a familiar scent of cologne. I
heard them chuckle.

"You smell good." I murmured.

"It''s called a shower." I heard them whisper in my ear, and then
they chuckled, again.

I felt myself being placed in a bed, and felt them tuck me in.

"Good night, Angel, and I'm truly am sorry." I heard them whisper
in my ear.

'Your making it harder for me, to go on.' I thought to myself.
