Searching for you

Chapter 4

V had just jumped down when he spotted empusa gathering human blood. "Little wanderer I believe you can stay there." he instructed.

"Ne why?" she asked peering down at him. He didn't answer, only looking ahead. Looking up she gasped as she caught sight of what he was looking at. A queen empusa, jumped and landed in the pool of blood, killing the others. "That's why sweat pea."

"Griffon get to work." he ordered. "Ya got it V!" He flew down and started blasting the queen empusa with lightning. Shadow joined the fray as well while V just stayed clear. Laura getting over her shock got up and drew her bow. She fired an arrow at the queen empusa. As the arrow flew, it slowly became millions of arrows.

"Come back," the tattooed man called. Both his familiars backed off and watched as the arrows reigned down upon the ant like creature.

The queen empusa, roared as it went for the girl. The girl smirked and jumped away from her perch. This gave her full advantage of the demons weak spot. While in mid air she cut the demon's abdomen in half, therefore killing it.

Landing on the ground she smiled at V who had a look of shock in his eyes. "Geez, I had no idea you could move like that." the bird praised as it flew around the girl. "Neither could I." she smiled.

'Interesting, so she just did it on reflex but those moves and the arrows only one person could do that, and that's Vergil.'  the man thought as he stared at Laura. 'Could it be that this woman is Vergils mate and Neros mother?'  he asked himself.

"But if she is his mate then why did she forget him? Did he place a spell on her to protect her or is it something else?" he asked putting his chin in his hands. "Uh, V who are you talking about?" the woman asked tilting her head. Said man looked at the girl in surprise.

"You were talking out load." she pointed. "Nothing you need to concern yourself, Little Wanderer." he answered patting her head. The poet walked past her but stopped when she  didn't follow him. 

A man was laying next to her. She could feel his arm around her waist gently. "So, my dear how are they today?" he asked "They're doing good although, when you leave they always start kicking me in the bladder." she sighed. At this the man chuckled, "It seems like the strength of  ______ already in them." the man said. "Oh please don't you go on about that again." she said in mock annoyance.

She unwrapped his arm and was about to get up when he grabbed her and placed her down again. Laughing she held his arm, "V-

"Yo, space cadet, are you coming or not." Griffon taunted as he flew next to his master. The raven haired girl looked up and shook her head. "I'm coming!" she called running over to them.

Laura PoV

After we exited the subway station crawling with lizards demon things we entered a spacey area. I looked to V for probably the hundredth time that day. 'Is he really my husband. Is V, truly him. That would explain why my heart aches but what about my dream was I pregnant with V's child but if I was then what happened to him?'

A huge thud pushed me out of my thoughts, I looked up seeing these armor knights surrounded us. I then took notice that we had rejoined with Nero.

Normal PoV

At the sight of the Angelo's, Laura's brown eyes darkened while V himself had an angry look. "You will pay in his stead for all his suffering." Laura said her voice dark and ominous. She removed her bow from her back and aimed it at the leader. The other two men stood there shock, surprised at her voice.

The stage slowly fell away from the stands as it slid down the hill like a sled in snow. "CHARGE!" the commander ordered. The minors did as ordered, V summoned his familiars while Laura just ran right past him with her bow like an axe she swung it at the commander.

He blocked, and pushed her away. She knocked an arrow and fired it at him. The arrow impeded himself into the sword. From the arrow blue energy was consuming it. With her dark eyes Laura again charged at him this time she was able to spill blood.

She swung again and again until the demon was no more. By this time the men were done with the minor angelo. Laura turned and jumped off as did the other two.

"Um L-Laura do you think you could uhm you know change your eyes back to normal?" Nero asked. Her eyes were covered in inky black.

Rose thorns killed a demon, as a blue sword slashed through another. Once the demons were dead another emerged, a Bael. "Laura, you will come back to the underworld where you will face the consequences of your father, King  _______ of the Underworld." it said as it jumped forward.

"I have nor will I ever answer to that name!" she explained running straight at the frog/toad demon. Vines grabbed it as the woman, sent multiple blades of energy at him. This pierced it's sensitive tongue causing it to scream in anguish. Gripping her swords, she jumped and cut the demons tongue off . Smirking, with her swords she hacked the demon into little pieces.

She let go of her swords which disappeared. Sighing, she fixed her hair to put it back in a pony tail. She also fixed her jean jacket. Once she thought she looked presentable, she turned around but froze in fear.

In front of her was a man. "Love, I-I-I can explain." she reasoned stuttering. "Truly I can, I have and never will consider my self to be a daughter of that monster."

The man started to turn away but she ran to him, wrapping her arms around his waist. They stood there silent as it began to rain.

  "I wanted to keep this a secret from you. That way you wouldn't hate me. Though you have every right to. After all it's my fault that your family was found." she said her voice starting to crack. "It's my fault that, your mother died and that you were separated from your brother! It's my fault that he's dead, it's my fault. I should have guessed that he'd do something that cruel." her cries getting louder but the man did nothing.

"Tell me, did you ever truly to love me?"  he asked. "Of course I love you. I love you because you want to protect the ones closest to you and you'd do anything to get that. Your kindness and wit is what go you this far and I'm glad that your ok. When I thought you dead, I blamed myself for it. I wanted nothing more than to run a sword through his chest for taking away your family and my happiness, but when I saw you again, I was relieved so happy to see you alive." she explained her tears soaking into his cloak.

The man took Laura's arms off and turned around. "If you want to kill me then do so, after all I deserve it." she said looking up at him. He reached his hand up as she closed her eyes. She waited for the steel of his sword to pierce her heart but what she felt instead was softness on her lips. Opening her eyes she blinked in confusion as she saw the man kissing her. Her tears began to flow again as the man rubbed them away with his thumb. She entangled her hands in his hair. She smiled in relief as the two separated.

Laura, was snapped out of her trip down memory lane when she felt a hand on her cheek. V was gently rubbing his thumb over her cheek. She blushed and backed away. "Um what just happened?" she asked. The tattooed man chuckled and walked away.
