It was undeniable now. She couldn't hide from the truth anymore but facing it was still something she wasn't keen on. And she didn't like it one bit. Every brain cell left in her told her to not think about it, to shut it down, lock it and never open that secret ever again. So, that meant the remaining two brain cells she still had, because no sane person would act in such a stupid way as she did.
„I still can't believe you've done this“, Frank leaned against the same tree trunk as (Y/N), leaving only a little space between them. She could feel his warmth from such a nonexistent distance.
„Well, it sounded promising in my head“, the younger girl had no other explanation. The idea hit her one day like lightening and she immediately went with it. Not questioning anything, not thinking. She still remembered when she told Frank how some things are decided by your gut feeling without contemplating them for hours. Maybe she should tone it down a little and not always take her own advice for gold.
The Legion leader snickered at her petty excuse. „In your head, huh? I didn't know you were a visionary.“
„Don't you mean clairvoyant? I think a visionary is something else.“
„Oh, so now you wanna debate me or what? What about fortune tellers? They all do the same thing: bullshitting people.“
„You're right“, (Y/N) couldn't help but smile at his attempt to light up her mood.
„Of course I am“
They still haven't parted ways. It's been a while since she calmed down but instead of them going about their day, Frank insisted on sitting down with her. At first, the (H/C) haired didn't know what to do with all the pressure he put on her, so she reserved to being completely silent. But he assured her that she should stop worrying so much and just relax for a moment.
And now they were here again. Next to each other, making her head spin and her heart speed up. How could it not? When he looked so gently at her without saying a word. He wasn't a big talker to begin with and (Y/N), who treated silence like her arch-nemesis couldn't help but slightly... enjoy this moment. The way Frank ran his fingers in a circular motion on her arm - it calmed her down. She liked how his rough hand felt on her own, leaving goosebumps on her whole arm. Although, the knowledge of the state of his skin in that place was something she'll rather.... not focus on. His hands were bound to be rough when he... had to kill.
It reminded her how they still were trapped in a place which only brought misery and despair with it. And a place Frank seemed to not want to leave. She truly wished she could change his mind in the near future. It was beyond her why someone would want to stay here, but it also was beyond Frank why someone (ahem (Y/N)) would return.
They had so little understanding of each other and (Y/N) had no problem with that being changed too; be it with talking or without. They just had to know a bit more about each other, basically, things that most people talk about when first meeting: likes, dislikes, hobbies, past, family. Things (Y/N) couldn't remember. No wonder there was a wall between them. She was building it herself.
