OLORIRE POV

"Come in and sit. I just wanted to check on you as the senior’s advisor, my name is Miss Gale and please feel free to ask any questions. You've been here two months, is everything OK? There haven’t been any issues or problems at all?" I shook my head; I couldn't exactly say my adopted family hate me especially with the confrontation that happened with Oracle two months back. It was safe to say we aren't going to be hanging out like girlfriends anytime soon.

"I heard you have been hanging with Juan Santiago. I wouldn't advice it if you want to pass the school." She smiled leaning closer into me. "I would advice to stick with people more your level." Her smile was too fake for my liking, it was forced.

"No disrespect Miss Gale. Who exactly are my types? If you would excuse me I don't want to miss extra lesson time. I have a lot of work to get done if I want to pass this school."  She knew I didn’t appreciate her comment. It was rude and uncalled for. It wasn't even an advice it was more like a warning.

"Mama Santiago meet Olorire, Olorire meet Mama Santiago." Mama Santiago was a petite tanned woman who didn't show any signs of being in her late 60's.

"Nice to meet you. Welcome to minha casa." She surprisingly hugged and kissed my cheeks. Her face had that beautiful radiant glow that older women have from years of perpetual youth.

"Mama we have a chemistry project to do. So we are going to my room."

"Keep your door open. Don't even think for a second, I'm going to allow you to sleep with a girl under my roof. I hear enough about your antiques in this neighbourhood." Mama said rolling her eyes.

"We are not like that we are just friends." I replied. I didn’t want her to think I was his little toy or someone he was sleeping with. I didn’t want and need the title. I was perfectly fine just being Olorire.

"Mama I wouldn't disrespect you in your house like that. Eu tu amo." He kissed mama on the cheeks whilst she rolled her eyes again not believing him and dragged me to his room. His room was smaller than mine due to the house being generally smaller in size, I loved the feel of it, and it was cosy and looked lived in unlike most of the Kaiser’s house, where half the rooms didn’t even have life to it. Juan respected his grandma enough and left the door open.

"Didn't imagine you to be the neat type, this is surprising." The room was well kept and tidy with a hint of rose hanging in the air. I picked up the photo frame that sat by his bed before placing it down again.

"Well sorry to disappoint. So what do you want to do the project on?" Juan disappeared before coming back with another chair for me. We quickly began talking over ideas.

"We could make our final project on food and chemistry. You know like molecular gastronomy and stuff. We could make a demo in class and hand out the samples at least it would be something different. We can get started by getting cook books from the library and I'll check eBay for some cheap kit that would work."

"Juan it's November we have 7 weeks for the project no need to rush." I started packing my books wanting to leave soon. It was getting late and I still had American history homework to do.

"I want to get an A in this project." The guy was so smart and turned up to class half of time and still managed to hit his grades.

"Honest question: why and how did you manage to stay in school?" I didn’t know if he would get offended but the things I heard about the Guereirros put me on edge even though they were decent guys. Especially with what Miss Gale was trying to say in her office and now Juan was concerned with his grades. It just didn’t add up.
