Chapter 3 - The Physicality of Boys

He pulled you down with him, your bare stomach touching his. "I don't know if I will."

You roll your eyes and kiss him again. "One time. That's it. Then you have to go to bed and no complaining, okay?"

He smiled, feeling accomplished in such a tired state. "Okay."

Sting left an hour before you in the morning. You headed for work when the snow was at it's worst. You've never seen it so bad this early in the morning. You haven't gotten a call from Eclair either... if there wasn't a call then there was no choice than to go.

Walking in it wasn't as bad as it looked from inside your cozy home. The wind was the biggest issue and the more you walked the more it died down. At first, the snow and high-speed winds felt like tiny knives, not it just felt like someone was trying to push you down into the foot high snow pile you tried marching through.

You couldn't wait to get to work. The oven was so far away... you couldn't wait to stand next to its hot rays for hours or however long it took the buns to bake.

Today, Eclair wanted you to work more hours than usual since she knew you were going to be busy with Brandish's show. You were practically going to be at her club for 48 hours straight starting tomorrow night. Luckily, Brandish said that after this upcoming show, you can take some time off to focus on your own work and craft. She mentioned going out of town, but for how long? You two haven't talked the specifics yet.

Working at two places and going to school wasn't too difficult either. You had the support of Sting and your father. There was also Sherry, Lyon, and Rogue there for you when you needed.

You wanted to talk to your father. This was the first time you've ever really wanted to call him and spend time with him as a "normal daughter" would. Perhaps it was the holiday season getting to you.

You pulled out your phone on the way to the station and clicked his number -- the one in now seventeen numbers.

Sherry made sure to edit your contact list during lunch at school. As annoying as the moment was, you appreciated her detailed emojis. It helped you find people faster... in your seventeen person contact list. Looking at it now you could probably lose a few contacts.

You tapped on your father's name and reluctantly got his voicemail after five or so rings. Three more times and each rung all the way to voicemail. Still feeling the itch to talk to someone, you dialed Sting and it didn't even ring. He must have had it turned off for work.

You felt nervous. For no real reason.

Once you got to the station and hopped on the train, you put your phone away you took your seat in a rather empty cart. There weren't as many people as you thought there was going to be. There might've been ten people but that's nothing compared to the mess that is a regular work morning where there are fifty people and half a dozen perverts.

The thick snow was probably what kept people home. It was hard to walk, let alone stand in it. Some of the roads weren't even cleared yet. The more you looked at it, the heavier the snow fell and now you could hardly see three houses away. Soon enough you wouldn't be able to see anything. You decided it would be best to take a train home when you stop. You could call Eclair on the way back.
