After Mard was thrown out, you sat there for a good ten minutes with Larcade just sitting on the floor next to the bed.
He was no better. You wondered why he was acting so nice when he was just the same as Mard. Any moment he could pin you down and do whatever, but you couldn't move to get away. You couldn't even hear the two in the other room anymore. They must've left or you just couldn't process what was going on around you.
"I'm not going to kiss you just because you helped me." You said aloud, eyes never reaching his.
He sighed and scooted to the wall. "I don't want a kiss from you. Not right now, at least."
You look up. "What does that mean?"
"I have a habit of acting without thinking. It never occurred to me that I would be bothering you. And when I heard you down the hall, and saw what Mard was doing, I realized just how much I could hurt people doing things like that." He held his hand over his lips, almost like he was guarding them from you.
You lay your legs out — to stretch them and hopefully find your will to walk. "Do you just go around kissing whoever?"
He sti hand his hand over his mouth but you could tell he was smiling. "Well, you're not the first beautiful person I've ever seen."
You were too frazzled to accept any compliments or feel the least bit humble about them. "So you helped me because I'm pretty?" You asked with a sour taste in your mouth. "Or because you felt bad for practically doing the exact same thing as he did?"
Larcade drops his hand. "I helped you because it was the right thing to do."
~~~
Larcade sat still as you made your way back to the theater room. Everyone was still sleeping and snoring with the movie playing as their lullaby.
You crawled back into your chair, not caring whether or not you were being loud. You trapped yourself in the blanket and drifted off, dreaming about something but forgetting as soon as you opened your eyes hours later.
~~~
"I'm so sorry about last night." Sting said over the phone during breakfast.
"I stayed at my co-worker Toparge's place. He lived down the street with his little sister Dia. They're really nice. I hope you guys can meet each other soon."
You sat on a stool at the kitchen island where Natsu, Gajeel, and Gray were smacking on their food.
You didn't eat.
"That sounds good." You answered, deflated and exhausted. You were dazed out and staring at your nails. Nails that could've scratched or done something to help you help yourself.
"... are you okay?" He asked.
You rubbed your eyes and tried perking up. "Yeah, yeah no I'm fine. I'm okay. Just be safe getting home."
"Okay. I'll see you at Brandish's?"
You nod and forget you're talking over the phone. "Yeah, I'll see you at Brandish's."
~~~
You didn't wait till evening. You asked Gajeel to drop you off at Brandish's club earlier in the day. You were drained and didn't say a word in the car, and the boys knew better than to bother you.
