The Alpha's Mate (Roronoa Zoro X Reader)

A thick fog around us, making the glow in Kuinas eyes, intense. Her face told me that she felt this victory in her bones but one thing was that I wasn't about to leave my family in her claws. "Yeah... Not happening...", I growled and kicked her in the gut. The screams and cries of the Hunters rang through the fog, I suddenly heard Zoro shouting off in the distance. The mere thought that my pack and the others were in danger made my mind go into overdrive. I growled as I finally attacked her, Kuina dodged. "You will never live happily in this world... Humans hate our kind, they mount your kinds heads on walls for all to see...", muttered Kuina, wiping the blood off her katana. "That's something for me to worry about in the future. For now, you're my biggest problem... Kidnapping my child in hopes to bring me down wasn't your brightest idea, Kuina.", I sneered. Kuina lunged at me again and I blocked her, keeping our distance apart. I knew that keeping her close would only get me injured, so I kept her at bay.

"Why don't you give up?! Zoro ruined your whole existence and yet here you are, fighting with these creatures. Fighting for people that won't even give you a thank you for all this work... You were just a worthless human that knew nothing about this world and now you are a Queen?!", she sneered. I frowned and prepared for the next attack, but instead of Kuina attacking me, she didn't move. She suddenly looked tired and just sighed, looking down at her katana, before throwing it at me. "I cant understand you, (Y/n)... I was brought back to kill you but... I don't even understand all this hatred towards you...", she growled and fell to the ground. She bowed down and left her neck exposed, I felt my guts turn as she did this. "Just kill me already...", she whispered.

I gritted my teeth and grabbed her katana, I swung it down and stabbed the ground next to her head. Some of her hair flew to the side and as she lifted her face, a small cut formed under her eye. "I don't understand either but I know that if I kill you... This cycle will continue... You should just live far from here... ", I growled and started walking away. There were sudden explosions and fire erupted right before me, my first thoughts were Ace's fight with Sakazuki. I ran towards them as the forest started to burn in the dense fog but I didn't get too far as Ace fell into the clearing; I gasped at the severity of his burns. He didn't move and this made my heart stop, I couldn't lose my brother in this war.

I ran over to him and saw Sakazuki come out of the burning forest, his fists emitted heat that reached me from the distance. "(y/n)... Run...", whispered Ace. I glared at him before throwing his arm over my shoulder, Sakazuki gave me a smirk. "YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY WIN?", laughed Sakazuki. "Shit...", I growled, as I knew there was no way to dodge the Hunter. "Just run!", shouted Kuina, her voice ripped me back to reality as she blocked the man. She started attacking Sakazuki to our surprise, I wasted no time and ran with Ace. "Why is she helping us?", mumbled Ace. "I don't know but Im not about to question it...", I said. I placed Ace somewhere safe and went back to the clearing, Zoro appeared by my side and followed me to find Kuina with a hole through her chest. I froze alongside Zoro, the girl had caused a lot of trouble for us but I was sure both of us didn't want her to die so cruelly.

"You've arrived, mutts.", smirked Sakazuki, throwing Kuina into a tree. I prepared myself while Zoro handed me a katana. "We end this all now...", he growled. I took a stance and we both started to attack the Elite Hunter, I felt a punch connect with my rib cage. "(Y/n)!", shouted Zoro. I cut off the Hunters arm and coughed blood, Zoro immediately kept his attacks until they started to affect the man's movements. I healed the best I could before continuing my attacks alongside Zoro. We both moved and attacked him, regardless of his attacks on us. I knew that if we didn't do this now, we would collapse from exhaustion. "JUST DIE ALREADY!", we screamed. My katana stabbed the man's chest and Zoros cut into Sakazukis's neck, we fell to the ground and I felt an overwhelming wave of emotions. I lifted my head to see that the Hunter didn't move, rain started to pour and I saw Witches shouting that they had arrived with reinforcements.

Zoro pulled me close and reassured me that Sakazuki was dead, I wrapped my arms around him and I looked over at the body of the man that had caused a lot of pain to our kind. I cried softly as the rain pour over us, Zoro had deep wounds that slowly were healing. We got up and saw a familiar figure walking towards us, it was Ace with Hayato. My son jumped out of Ace's arms and ran to us, hugging our legs. I picked Hayato up and hid him in my chest as he sobbed. "Mommy, Im sorry!", he cried. I smiled and reassured him that everything was fine now, Zoro kissed my head and Hayatos before suggesting that we head back to the house. I looked over at Kuinas body and looked at Ace. "Please give her a proper burial along with our pack....", I whispered, stopping Hayato from looking that way. Ace nodded and started walking towards the body, the rain lightened and a light sprinkling was felt.

We arrived to see our pack standing strong, they ran over to us and hugged us. "Im glad you didn't die, (Y/n).", sobbed Sora. I smiled and hugged her, Law was busy helping the injured. The battle was over here but we heard that the other battles were intense, many of our kind died and so did other creatures. We had lost many due to the fight yet it was expected, Sora told us that the war was over yet we still had to talk to the humans. I sighed at the label since I was a human once, I made preparations and headed to meet with other Kings and Queens.

"We need to get this over with..."
