"I think these are the most words we've spoken to each other in months."

With the help of Nick Fury, Katherine Rogers was able to get the 'fugitive' Avengers moved into a safehouse, that no one knew about. Last time Katherine talked to her son, he and Wanda were in Australia. She was happy that they were able to get out and live their lives together without being trapped in a stuffy safehouse.

Katherine could also tell being underground was taking a toll on her daughter. She could slowly seeing Amaya falling into a depression. Probably from having to stay underground, and the two people closest to her age gone a lot of the time. She never wanted her family to live like this, and she knows it's partially her fault. A lot of the time, it has her thinking, should they have just given into the Accords? She was thinking that Tony was right.

She should've done what was best for her family.

Katherine grabbed the burner phone she had, with only Tony's number programmed into it, and she dialed it. She called Tony, quite frequently now that she had gotten rid of her actual cell phone and replaced it with a burner phone that can't be tracked. Tony never asked to know where they at, he just wanted to know that Katherine, Steve, the kids and the rest of the Avengers were okay.

"Hey. . is everything alright?" Tony's voice rang through.

"Yeah. . I just, I wanted someone to talk to." She said. She was outside on the back porch of the safe house, with a cup of coffee in her hands, and looking at the scenery behind her. They might be fugitives, but at least they were fugitives with a nice view. The small city they were in had a beautiful lake that ran through it, and where Katherine and Fury got them set up, they had a perfect view of the lake.

"What about this time? Have you talked to Steve?" Tony asked.

"Of course I have. He's my husband." Katherine said, lightly playing with her wedding ring.

"No, Kat. . I mean have you talked to him. About what happened?" Tony asked, and Katherine sighed, indicating his answer. It's been a little while, but Katherine was back to sharing a room with her husband, although to both of them, it felt like they were still separate.

"There's nothing to talk about anymore." Katherine said.

"Kat, you called me. . in the middle of the night, I might add. Crying, and told me the same thing you told Natasha. You keep avoiding Steve because you're mad at yourself. We both know the guy, he's probably not mad at you, he probably never was. He probably forgave you a long time ago and just misses his wife." Tony said, and Katherine knew he was right. She didn't know it, but Steve had come to find her, and he was standing in the doorway of the back door, and since Katherine had Tony on speaker, he heard everything he said.

"Trust me. . I miss his wife too. I was never mad at him, T. . but even if we get over this, it's always going to be with us. We fought each other, like really fought each other." Katherine said.

"Then you should've just joined him and Bucky in kicking my ass." Tony said, which made her laugh.

"And have Howard come get me from beyond the grave? No thanks, besides, I stand by what I said. You had just relived the worst moment of your life. . you had every right to be mad, and so did I, and I was. . but then it just got me thinking, I wish I would've known back then that Bucky survived that fall. . I could've. . saved him before HYDRA got too deep in his mind and then maybe that incident never would've happened." Katherine said, and Tony sighed.

"Kat, don't you dare go blaming yourself for that. You literally wiped out as much of HYDRA as you could, and it's not your fault they would've rather died than told you the Winter Soldier was Bucky." Tony said.
