V glanced at Laura, "and what was I doing in that darkness?"

"I- I'm not sure." she whispered. V hummed as he went back to his poems. "However that wasn't the only thing that I saw." she spoke. The poet shifted his attention back to her. "I also felt pain excruciating pain. I think."

The tattooed man hummed again. "I don't know exactly what I said during that but I may have said a name maybe. Maybe it was yours, but it it didn't-" a groan was heard interrupting Laura' thoughts. Onyx eyes turned to see Trish sit up.

"Dante' left," the only thing spoken by her.

"Yes and I don't think he can win." V spoke turning the page in his journal. Shocked Trish turned to see the two sitting on the crate with the woman hiding behind the sorcerer. "V, what was that demon? Where did it come from?" questioning him. "Urizen is not a demon. I know that for a fact because I'm from the underworld."

At this point the short woman fell into her thoughts, She' s a demon, but she's so pretty. I thought all demons were ugly creatures or at least scary looking. thinking to herself Laura peeked out from behind the poets shoulder.

"Eva."

The blonde haired woman looked to the black haired female beside the sorcerer. Trish' eyes widened. "Is that normal for her?" she inquired. V shifted his gaze to Laura whose eyes had turned black with dark wisps slithering from her eyes. Lifting his hand he placed it on her head moving her down to his chest so she could lean on him. "The norm of this one is strange yet we are in such a strange place."

While V explained the story of his birth and his circumstance. His companion was deep in her own world.

_____

A forest surrounded me. I was scared walking through it. I heard a branch snap and immediately I ducked hiding in the bushes. "Boys you stay there." a man instructed. Hearing footsteps I whimpered. I knew not why. What did I have to fear?

Putting my hands over my head I curled myself into a ball. The branches were pushed aside as I continued to cower. "Now what' a small demon like you doing here?" humming in curiosity. Suddenly I felt that there were thorns surrounding the bush. "Ah its ok, it's ok I'm not gonna hurt you." exclaiming.

"Father!" a boy yelled. The slicing of steel was heard. "Boys, are you alright!" his tone filling with worry. "We are fine father." a different boy yelled. The man growled, "Alright that's it." Pushing through the vines he grabbed me by the scruff of my clothes. Wounds that I didn't even notice had reopened making me silently wince.

Bringing me to eye level with him he gasped. Now that I could see him, his eyes were a deep brilliant blue. "Ro--- is that you." he questioned tilting his head.

At the mention of the name I felt the world stop. Tears that welled up inside slowly fell from my eyes. Clutching the coldness around my neck, a wail escaped from my mouth.

"Momma~!"

At this revelation the tall male's face changed. "Oh, oh, it's alright." he hushed, changing his hold , he knelt down bringing me close to his chest. "It's alright little one. Let it all out. You were such a brave girl weren't you." his cooing reminded me of someone, someone dear.

Continuing to cry, he carried us somewhere. "V--, Da--- come along." through the haze I saw two boys though I couldn't make either out.  We continued walking, my wails echoing across the forest. Soon we came upon a house, filled with flowers and roses. "Boys do you mind getting your mother?" he asked them as he entered what I assumed was the garden. "Yeah sure thing dad!" one yelled his footsteps rushing a different direction. " Don't go running off what if mother is busy with something!" the first one said rushing after his brother.

Sighing the man continued into the garden as we traversed deeper in  my cries slowly came to a halt and nothing but sniffles escaped me. "Here we go." the male grunted as he sat with me still in his lap. We were sitting in the grass, his purple coat splaying out behind him.

Clutching onto him, he smelled of lilacs and something else lilies maybe. "I imagine your mother gave you that." gesturing towards the coldness around my neck. Mumbling something my hands tightened around it. "Oh no don't be afraid I wouldn't dream of taking that from you." he chuckled.

Silence hung around us again until I heard humming. The tune wasn't anything extravagant but it sounded familiar, it sounded safe, it. Tears formed again as I turned my back to the falling sun burying myself into the man.

"Dearest," voice called. It was soft and cool comforting even, a female. "Ah Eva, don't worry. I'm fine." the male chuckled. The grass shuffled as the woman knelt down. "That is quite a relief."  the woman hummed. I could feel the woman eyes on me. Shifting so I could discreetly look at her while still having my nose to the male cloak. Peeking through my dark tresses. I saw a red shawl kneeling in front of us. "It's ok darling. I'm a friend." a bright smile spreading across her face.

Her face it's like that woman's, lifting her hand she ran it through my hair clearing it away from my face. A white glove doing the same thing. "You look exactly like Ro---" he spoke a fondness I knew not what in his voice. "You'll be safe here." they both declared hugging me in between them. Tears welled as something filled within me, something I didn't know yet it felt warm.

______

Laura softly opened her eyes watching as Trish, now fully dressed, walked by. Quickly she grabbed onto her arm. "Eva, I'm sorry. Please forgive me." The two looked at her Trish startled by her eyes. Laura' eyes still held the black wisps yet her eyes were blue. A clear brilliant blue, this startled the demon. Those eyes, I'm positive I've seen them before. Wait did she just call me Eva? But that's Sparda' wife. Just as the blonde haired demon was about to question her. Laura fainted letting go of Trish in the process.

V shifted the black haired woman so that she lay on her back, her head resting on V's lap. The lightning demon gazed at her. A moment of silence stood before she spoke. "What is her name and where did she come from?" her tone the same as when she asked about Urizen. "I know not where she comes from but I believe or at least I thought that she was" the sorcerer trailed off lost in thought.

Trish placed her hand on her hip, "You thought she was his mate well I guess to be more accurate your mate."

At the statement he nodded. "Either way whoever she is, she's not human. That I am sure of. Also if you do care about her. You need to see this through." walking past him again. "Dante' war."
