hibernicaphobia: the fear of carpets
Roonie's POV: *people awards*
"I don't know how you guys can do this," I said to Grayson while holding the white long sleeve bodycon dress in my hands.
"It's fun," Grayson said while buttoning his dress shirt. "Just trust me."
"But it's so... extravagant. Like, red carpet events are huge and you talk about it so casually. And it's an award show!"
"And you're gonna love it." He looked over at me and smiled. "We pull up in the car and we walked the carpet. People are screaming and cheering, you take a few pictures with your supporters and say hi to them. Then, you hit the red carpet. All you do is walk, and stop to take pictures, answer a few questions and then you keep walking. Afterward, you're escorted to your seat and you wait for the awards ceremony to start. You sit there for like however long it is and then you get up and leave. It's actually super simple."
"But like... you have to be super photogenic to look good in red carpet pictures."
"You're naturally photogenic. You're naturally beautiful, Roonie."
"No, you." He chuckled and did his tie in the mirror. I got up and held the dress in front of my body. "This dress is super revealing."
"I know, but it's also super appealing," he said with a smirk. I laughed as he grabbed me by the waist and pulled me close to him.
He wrapped his arms around me and placed a kiss on the top of my head.
"Thank you for agreeing to come with me." He smiled.
"Anything for you, Gray." I looked up at him and smiled. "Thank you for taking me."
-
"Are you excited?" Ethan asked me.
"I'm more nervous than I am excited, but yeah..." He just laughed.
"Stop shaking so much," Grayson said with a laugh. He gripped my hand tightly and kissed my knuckles. "You look gorgeous."
"I'm so nervous," I whispered.
"Don't be. It'll be over before you know it." He gave me a warm reassuring smile.
We pulled up to the front. People were lined everywhere. Most of them were reporters and hosts here to take pictures and ask questions. Others were stans here to see their idols. And others were people like Ethan and Grayson.
I felt my stomach go hollow and then begin to swarm with butterflies. My hands became clammy and my heart was racing. I felt like I could literally hear my heart beating out of my chest like it was connected to a speaker of some sort and placed next to my ear. My eyes scanned the crowd. Everything was moving so fast like the world was spinning around me. But I could still process everything that was going on, which made it even worse. My mind began playing tricks on me and my thoughts were fighting over what was real and what I was making up in my head.
And then it happened.
I was stuck by myself in the middle of a dark room. One single spotlight hovering over my head that was so bright I felt as if my skin would melt off at any moment. And then one by one, dark red eyes appeared. All staring at me. I was alone trying to call out for someone, trying to find someone to hold on to. Nothing. I shut my eyes and opened them again. Nothing. I-
"Roonie?" Everything vanished and I looked around. Grayson sat next to me holding my hand tightly. "Are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah... Just nervous." I smiled.
