“Well that is definitely not what I was expecting when I said you two need to talk.” Amber laughed when she opened the door, “Guess you two made up. I’m glad.” She closed the door and Cleo and I laughed while laying under the sheet, cuddled up together, enjoying the moment and euphoria of what just happened.

I closed my eyes, the memories of the sheets flying off the bed, her warm body against mine, her fingers tracing my curves and the kisses, my oh my the kisses. They were gently and loving, they were firey and kind.  They were everything I expected them to be and then some. I smiled and pulled the sheet over my face, I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks.

“Hey.” She said, her fingers pulling the sheet from my face, “Don’t you know I think you’re beautiful, you don’t have to hide anything from me.” She kissed me again, this time so gently, I wasn’t sure if it had actually happened. “Shit. I have to go, Ivy is going to be pissed.” She said getting out of bed, and jumping into her pants. She put her bra, which had ended up by the bathroom door and pulled on her shirt, she buttoned it up part way and I couldn’t help myself, she was stunning. I wrapped the sheet around my body and got up to kiss her. “I would love to stay longer, but I told Ivy I wouldn’t be gone more than 2 hours. I’ll see you later. I really have to get going. I’m so sorry.” She said rushing out the door, I smiled as she left, I would have said something, but the only thought that ran through my mind was how much I loved her and it was way too soon to tell her that.

…..

“That conversation clearly went better than anyone could have anticipated.” Amber said as soon as I emerged from my room. I laughed and rolled my eyes, what else could I have said. I felt like I was floating on clouds and nothing could bring me down. I sat down at the dining table, with a grin so wide I thought my face would get stuck with this stupid smile. Amberlynn passed me a cup of coffee and sat down across from me, “So….”

“So, nothing.” I closed my eyes and sipped my coffee, it was room temp so she had been waiting for awhile, I looked out over the rim of my cup, and saw her staring, I knew she wasn’t going to leave it alone until I told her something. “Ugh. Fine.” I put my cup down and she grinned. “You already know how it ended, but we never technically got back together. She forgave me and I explained everything, including today.”

“What do you mean today?” Amber was clearly alarmed, but after everything that had just happened, I refused to be upset by it, I was in too good of a mood.

“She tracked me down in the courtyard, and possibly to my car. I just saw a sliver of yellow running away when I looked in my rear view.” I was back to drinking my coffee, I didn’t want to think about this anymore. I just wanted to continue to enjoy this moment.

“If you want, we can still go to the police, you know that, right?” She was concerned, and I knew that, Rachel had been really erratic lately and even with Amber trying to keep tabs on her, it was hard considering their schedules clashed.

“You of all people know money talks in this town. I can’t just run into the police station and accuse one of the wealthiest family of having a pyscotic lesbian stalker.” I started to get uncomfortable, just saying that made my skin crawl. Stalker. I had a stalker and she used to be one of my best friends. “They won’t do anything without concrete proof, or worse yet, she tries to kill me.” I wouldn’t put that past her. “Besides, Graduation is right around the corner. She’s moving to a different state, and everything will be fine.” I wasn’t so sure anymore, but I had to be hopeful. Right?

“You’re braver than I, Ryder. I would have left and never looked back.” Sometimes I think she forgets that not everyone in the world comes from money and is able to do that. I couldn’t fault her though, she grew up with and around those who had money. I grew up working for everything that I had. We came from two extremely different worlds, yet somehow we meshed together perfectly. “I hope you don’t mind, I told Dakota he could stay the night. He’ll be getting in late, but I’ll make sure to let him in.”
