Y/n's POV

Here I was, at my best friend's wedding. Lila was getting married to Max Verstappen a Formula one driver. I was one of the bridesmaids and I was not very excited about it for one specific thing. Wonder why? I'm an introvert so when it comes to having the attention on me, I don't deal with it quite well.

I was having more wedding jitters than Lila which made her giggle at my state. My knees bouncing up and down as we waited for the wedding planner to call us.

"Ok ladies your time to shine, there's a groomsman waiting for each of you to walk down the aisle, let's go !"  she said giving each one of us our bouquets. 

As we all joined them I spotted Alex Albon my all-time crush. As every other bridesmaid joined their 'partners' I soon understood he was mine. I approached him with an uneasy smile on my face which made him blush. 

You see Alex is the ultimate sweetheart, seriously, he has to be the cutest of them all on the grid but when he enters that car he's another person. Fearless and confident since he joined Aston Martin Red Bull Racing and I loved that. 

I've been to a few races with Lila and I had talked to him a few times and to be honest he's very nice and not stuck-up like some other drivers that I've met. 

"Hey Alex" I said my voice thankfully not betraying me. I hate that I can be so nervous around people. 

"Hi Y/n you look absolutely gorgeous" I immediately blushed and thanked him. 

Right after that, we were asked to link arms and as we did I felt sparks running down my whole body. I think Alex felt it too because we both looked at each other stunned. He hung his head down blushing madly. 

We walked down the aisle, slowly but with the background music playing it was so romantic. When we separated ways I missed him behind close to me. I gave him one last look and we stood where we had to. 

The ceremony went on beautifully, Lila and Max exchanged vows and a few tears were shed. I love weddings and all the love that is poured in them. I was so busy daydreaming that I forgot that they were waiting for me to take pictures with the newlyweds. 

We posed for some and I went to my table, I was with some of the bridesmaids and groomsmen including Mr. Albon. We were suspiciously sitting next to each other. I glanced over Lila and Max and they were smirking at me, Lila giggling while Max whispered something in her ear.

I recomposed myself and took a big gulp of champagne.

"So Alex how has it been going since you changed teams ?" I decided to ask, I didn't want it to be awkward all night long. It may be the champagne which helped me to gain the confidence to talk to him.

"Um pretty good! I feel like I have improved both in my technique and acknowledge of the car" I nodded and we talked during the whole dinner. I barely talked to my other friends, Alex and I were getting along so well.

He was definitely less shy than earlier that's for sure. Looking at me in the eyes and not somewhere else as he would usually do.

I feel like the fact that we're sitting next to each other was made on purpose. Only Lila knew my massive crush on him, she must have something to do here in this situation. 

The music started to play and soon a lot of people were on the dancefloor, I looked at them smiling. Like I said I'm an introvert and dancing is not really on my chords. 

Alex sensed I wanted to but me being well, me I didn't bother to go. The next move he made shocked me, he grabbed my hand and led me to the dancefloor. I shily sneaked my arms around his neck and he did the same with his around my waist. 

We danced as a slow and romantic song came. I rested my head on his chest hearing his quick heartbeat. 

"Alex calm down you're about to have a heart attack !" I giggled looking at him in disbelief. He blushed and smiled down at me. 

"I'm sorry I'm just so nervous to make a mess, I like being around you" he said in my ear because the music was so loud. I kissed his cheek and we kept dancing. 

What I didn't notice before was the proud smile on Lila and Max's faces. They seemed glad Alex and I were getting along so well and that we had managed to get out of our comfort zones.

We had fun for so long and I danced and laughed with my best friend. 

The time had come to say goodbye to everybody, I didn't want to go home but I had to. I was about to call for a cab when Alex took my phone out of my hands. 

"Let me take you home Y/n" I nodded and hugged Lila goodbye and then waived at Max. Lila smirked at me as I entered Alex's beautiful grey, Aston Martin. 

During the whole drive Alex looked nervous, I feel like he wanted to ask me something but didn't. We quickly reached my apartment building and I didn't want to leave him. I had such a great time with him, shame it was ending too soon.

"Y/n? Y/n are you listening ?" I snapped out of thoughts and nodded. "Yeah yeah sorry Alex" I gave him a warm smile and picked up my clutch. 

"I was wondering if I could have your number ?" he asked obviously uncomfortable but still daring to look at me. I giggled and handed him my phone with my number on the screen. He picked it up and sent himself a text with it. 

"So Alex do you want to grab a coffee someday ?" I asked getting out of the car and so did he. "For sure I would love to! I have all the time since we're on the offseason" he answered excitedly. 

We paused and looked at each other for sometime before I broke the starring contest. "Well, I have to go, thank you so much for taking me home" I kissed his cheek and entered my lobby. 

I looked back and he was still there making sure I go home safely. He's the best seriously. 

What a night!
