Random Thoughts

Couple Short to make fun of the "Messy Bun" cliche - but it turned out cuter than I wanted it to be.

"You up?" His voice rang through the hall as i threw off my covers and dragged myself to my dresser. "It's almost 8."
"I was tired," I mumbled, grabbing a hair tie, leaning over to tie my hair in a messy bun. I glanced in the mirror, looking at the blur that is me, shrugged my shoulders as I walked through my bedroom door. It was a pretty good bun.
I watched him as he turned to look at me, his lips turning up into a smile.
"You look beautiful." He grinned. I smiled back, happy that he too was satisfied with my messy bun.
"I do?" I asked, for confirmation of his compliment, but he burst out into laughter.
"Of course you don't, you really think that bun looks as great as they say in fanfiction?!" My brows furrowed and I looked at the ground.
"It was dark.." I mumbled. He stood up from the sofa and walked over to me, placing two hands on my cheeks, squishing my face so I looked like a fish.
"Your bun may be ugly," he pulled my face up gently to look at him. "But that fish face is the cutest thing I've ever seen." He chuckled and kissed my nose, trailing into the kitchen to start cooking, swaying his hips comically. It was date night, and this week it was his turn to cook.  I smirked and watched him walk away, licking my bottom lip at each sway of his hips. He then turned and winked, turning the corner to the kitchen and disappeared.
God, I love that man. I couldn't wait to marry him.
