Severus Snape x Reader

Snape POV

It was a rather dull Tuesday and I was walking towards my bookshelve in my classroom, when suddenly a beautiful (your patronus) patronus came bursting into the room.

Confused, I followed it onto the grounds and towards the lake. I was nearly on the shores when I saw (Y/N)'s body laying on there, lifeless, the sight reminded me of when I found Lilly's body.

My first thought as I crouched beside her body was please don't be dead, luckily she had a pulse but it was very faint. Picking her up immediately I rushed to the hospital wing to Madam Pomfrey , nearly kicking the door of it's hinges I shouted "Poppy , I need help!"

When she came towards me her eyes went wide and she rushed me to the nearest bed. I set (Y/N) down and Madam Pomfery started her work, after pacing for a few minutes she informed me that (Y/N) had hyperthermia but she would be fine if she remained in the hospital wing for a week or 2. She would, however, wake in the next 2 days but , seeing as she was so cold for so long it could be longer.

Taking one last look at her pale, beautiful face I turned and left. When I got to my chambers , the shock of what happened overtook me and I sat there unable to move.

Author POV

When she awoke, her throat was burning, her body heavy and aching all over. She felt sluggish, disorientated and cold. Focusing on her surroundings, she noticed she was in the hospital wing. Someone must have found her, who ever they were , she needed to thank them.

She tried to sit up but that just resulted in pain shooting through her entire body , she let out a hoarse scream of agony. Madam Pomfery was at her side within seconds, " Don't move just yet. Your body needs time to heal and recuperate" she said in a comforting voice. She nodded and tried to ask for water.

She left and came back with a jar of water and a glass. She helped her sit up so she could drink, once she was in a sitting position she sipped the water, the cool sensation making her throat tingle. She thanked Madam Pomfery when she suddenly asked "(Y/N) , dear, what happened ?"

She told her how she went skating, fell into the ice, got out and sent her patronus to get help. She looked shocked, it didn't last long because her face suddenly filled with rage. " How could you have been so irresponsible?" She screamed , " You could have died , if not for Professor Snape!"

"Wait , Professor Snape was the one who saved me ?" She said in a small voice, almost 100% sure she was blushing madly at the moment.

"Yes , he came bursting in here with you in his arms. Nearly broke the doors down." She said in an irritated voice. Snape nearly breaking the doors down for me ? Her heart did an involuntary flip

"Madam Pomfery, how long was I unconscious?" She asked.

"About 3 days now, Professor Snape has been in here everyday to see how you were." She said. 3 days ? But then that means-

She must have seen the look of panic on my face because she said , " Yes Christmas has passed already, I'm sorry you missed it dear. But that will teach you !"

"Yes of course, I really didn't-" she began when the door opened and in came the dashing Severus Snape . She flushed and looked at her hands in her lap.

"Ah , Severus, I was just about to inform you that (Y/N) has awoken." She gave her a look that said she would hear her apology later , and then she left. Leaving Snape and the girl alone.

"Pro-"
"(Y-"

She giggled when he gave a little bow, and then said "My apologies Miss (Y/N), for coming in unannounced. Please continue with what you were about to say."

"I just wanted to say thank you for saving me" she said looking up into his black orbs, instantly being mesmerized.

"It was my pleasure, now , why were you on the lake in the first place ?" He said in a serious tone.

Before she could answer, Madam Pomfery came back and said "Alright , that's enough for today. I'm sorry but you will have to come tomorrow if you want to chat with (Y/N) . Her body has received a huge shock and she needs rest."

Madam Pomfery was carrying a tray with food on it and she suddenly felt famished. Snape got up and put something down on the nightstand beside her then he said "Well , good evening and I i hope you make a full recovery Miss (Y/N)." And for the first time ever his eyes had genuine concern and sincerity in them.

When he left, she hadn't noticed it was already dark outside and she discovered that the thing he put down on her nightstand was chocolate and (any other favourite snack you like). How did he know ? She smiled and ate her food in silence, afterwards Madam Pomfery gave her a potion and told her to sleep.
