"You may now take a phone." A guard says to me and I walk to a booth and sit down in front of a large and thick window, a phone on a chord hangs from the wall on either side of the glass.

A man in an orange jumpsuit with hands cuffed behind his back, is escorted by a guard to the seat on the other side of the glass. The guard uncuffs the man and a clock starts ticking. Two minutes. I pick up the phone, as does the man.

"Hello father." I speak into the phone, a tear rolls down my face as all the memories with him, good and bad, come rushing back to me.

"Daughter." My father's smile kind of sinister, but it quickly fades to an obvious mock-sad. "Where did you go? It's been months and you haven't come to see your own goddamn father."

"What you did was bad. It makes me sick, I can't stand to even see your face dad. But, I need your help. It's urgent." I speak quietly.

"Go back to our old house and crawl under the floor. There's a stash of guns and knives down there." He whispers.

"Not that kind of help dad. Plus, this is all recorded you fuckwit. The cops know about that now. But you know how you were possessed or whatever." My dad slowly nods at me. "Whatever got you, got me too. But I got it worse. I got powers. Help me. Please dad."

"You think that after all you've said today that I'd give you my help. Ha, no. Unless of course you want to break me out then we could have ourselves a deal."

"No dad. Im begging you, please. I need your help." I cry out through the phone.

"No. You don't deserve it. You don't deserve anything. You're ungrateful and a whore, just like your mother. Get out of my sight." My dad throws the phone back onto the hanger and the clock stops. I slowly put mine down as rage fills my body.

I let out a loud and raspy, lingering scream. My eyes roll back and my head jolts up as the scream gets louder. A gigantic thud and crash is heard across the room  my eyes go back to normal and I snap back into reality. I look forward as my father lay on the ground below the broken brick wall, aching and rolling in pain. My eyes well quickly with tears and I run as fast as I can out of the vicinity, a few guards chasing me.

I run to the bus stop, and oh so conveniently, the bus pulls up and I hop on. I hand the driver the rest of the change in my pocket and take a seat. I let out a refreshed groan and throw my head back.

"Rough day?" A male voice I don't recognise asks from the seat beside me.

"What do you care?" I spit back feistily, not bothering to look at him.

"You look like a mess and a half, seems like you could use someone to talk to." The voice speaks again.

"I guess." I say with a sigh and turn towards the voice. A genuine smile is plastered on his face, showing pearly white teeth with shiny braces neatly covering them. His hair a fluffy and curly brown poking from beneath a camp-nowhere cap.

"Hi, I'm Dustin." He says sweetly, holding out his hand for me to shake. I take it and then fist-bump him after we shake.

"Y/N." I smile. "Where you headed to?"

"Hawkins." The boy says while looking out the window.

"Really? Me too!" I say excitedly. Dustin turns to me and smiles. I feel like I've heard the name come up in conversation before. "By any chance do you know anyone called Will, Mike, Max, Lucas (A/N-not caleb, i fucked up in chapter 8. I'm sorry ahah) or El?"

"Yes! I mean, they ditched me but I still miss them." Dustin sighs and stares out the window blankly.

"That sucks. I don't know why they'd do that to you. Will brought me over to Mike's and said I was part of the party but Mike, El and Max kind of insulted and excluded me, so I know how you feel." I reassure Dustin while patting his shoulder.

"I always got that vibe from them. Anyway, why were you all the way out here?" Dustin asks me, my head begins to spin at the thought of why but I decide to speak and be positive.

"Visiting my dad." I put on a fake smile and fidget with my thumbs.

"That must've been nice for you." I furrow my brows in sadness and anger about my father.

"Not particularly. He's in prison." I say while nodding.

"Oh. I'm sorry." The fluffy haired boy says with guilt in his tone, giving me a hug while patting my back to comfort me. It surprisingly works, making me feel calm.

The bus journey continues, Dustin and I talk the whole time as the clear blue day turns to a start dark night. We rant about our favourite constellations for what seems like forever until the bus finally stops outside 7/11 is Hawkins, our stop.

"What the fuck Y/N!"
