About a week and a half later, the boys play against the Flyers. I'm not looking forward to it and I don't think Mathew is either. The girls know what happened and that Mat's furious about it so they're all nervous that he'll do something, just like I am.

The day of the game though, Mat and I were sitting at his kitchen counter after his morning gym workout and he asked "What do you want for Christmas?" I was honestly a little shocked at the question because we've only been officially dating for like a month. "Nothing, I just want to spend time with you and my family." I say, leaning forward and kissing him. "What about you?" I ask. "I have everything I could ever want." He smiles. "It would be nice to see my family on Christmas though." He said, looking down at his hands in his lap. That gets me thinking.

That night, I get ready at Mat's place, where I had stayed the night before. I put on black pants, the jersey Mat gave me and white converse. Mat had dressed in a black suit with a black shirt and blue tie, his normal attire to the games. He looked so handsome.

On the way to the game, we jam out to his pre-game playlist like we always do. He parks his car in the players parking garage and we head into the rink. He has his arm around my shoulders until he wraps me in a hug and kisses me before heading to the dressing room.

I meet up with a couple of the girls and we head to a restaurant down the street for some pre-game drinks.

"So Lex, what are you and Matty doing for Christmas?" Megan Bailey asks.

"I'm not sure, we both want to be together but also spend time with our families. I thought about flying him out to see his parents but I also want to meet them too. And my parent haven't met him yet either." I explain, swirling the drink around in the glass that I had.

"I have an idea!" Lauren speaks up. "I'm guessing you want to meet them before the all-star break if he gets selected so you're not meeting them at the ceremony."

"Well we don't know if he'll get picked yet." I say. "But he did seem kind of sad because he doesn't have the time to be with his family during the holiday." I add.

"Anyways, if you want to surprise him, fly his parents out and your families converge at one place for either dinner or a party or something so everyone can meet Mat and his parents and sister can meet you." Lauren explains. "That's a great idea!" I say, excitedly. I hug Lauren and mentally start planning this Christmas surprise for Mat.

"How am I gonna reach out to his parents though? I mean, I haven't met them yet and some girl's just randomly going to ask them to come?" I question.

"Just reach out to his dad on Facebook or something." Megan says, sipping her own drink.

"I can't wait to see his face." I smile.

After we finish our drinks, we walk back to the rink, showing our passes to the security guards and going to our club seats the boys had arranged.

The warm ups start and the boys come out to loud music and start skating laps and stick handling. Then the Flyers come out and start skating too. The girls and I had left our box to the go to the glass and watch them warm up. I take a picture of him and post it on my instagram.
