The air felt nice up here. Her wings glided on it like skaters on ice, barely scraping it but still smooth. There wasn't any crippling worry about anyone to weigh her down. It felt perfect right up until someone else appeared.

Something threw itself at her that unbalanced herself. Trying to see who it was Jane struggled to get a good look at the person who continued to throw attacks into her. The loss of focus can with the cost of her wings. Jane kept twisting and turning trying to get the person off but nothing worked. The pair continued to free fall until Jane put them through a portal to slow the momentum. Often missing, Jane tried desperately to get rid of the distraction. However their hands coiled around her throat and prevented oxygen from being taken in. Her mind screamed not to pass out but she couldn't prevent it in time.

That was the last thing she remembered.

Muzzle that dug into her jaw, uncomfortable collar, hands sewed together by metal covering, she was back. Her head rested against the small cell that wasn't enough to lay down in. Jane glared at the person shrouded by shadows barely out of sight. She gave the occasional slam against the detention glazing that only bounced her hits and remained unchanged. Jane despised this part, waiting. No one told her anything and she couldn't see who it actually was that attacked her. It bothered her how quickly she was caught off guard, they had to have some sort of concealing or transportation power to do such a stunt. The person was trained and handed her off to Phantom, an organization that they knew existed hand had ties to. A burning sensation dragged across her hands. Her muffled gasps could barely be heard.

"Looked who's up." Said a voice.

Another slam responded that came from Jane.

"Feisty, still a little wild." Her voice changed to monotone. "I'll fix that."

Jane's eyes grew wide as the lady stepped into view. The familiar high heels and dull dress belonged to her custodian. She froze in pure terror at the sight of her. Acid, that's what the feeling was. Her heart rate increased. She could feel the overwhelming panic attack her. The woman stepped closer to her.

"Now, are you going to behave or will I have to cut off your hands?" She smiled as she stoped right at the glass barrier. Jane simply looked at her, no movement, no slamming, no signs of retaliation.

"That's better." Suddenly the glass door swung open. "Seems like all you needed was a little encouragement."

Jane got up. Slowly she stepped out, her collar beeped to being activated. Looking down at the floor the lady continued. Her hand grazed the side of Jane's face and she stayed quiet and still. The muzzle dropped from her face as the buckles loosened.

"Don't worry the acid won't affect the path of your powers." The woman gave her a file. "I want you to take Nick out of the game permanently." She hissed.

Jane looked at it but not inside. "If I don't?"

"You remember your old training buddies right?" She whispered close to her. "I'll kill them."

Suddenly blood dropped from her mouth, raspy breathing came out of her, a thin black blade stuck itself into her chest.

One eye turned black."Your scanners can't detect what he gave me." Jane gripped her head as she crippled to the floor. "You brought them here, I smell them, I can see the faintest hint of their presence, all because of you. You haven't seen what I am." Jane yanked through blade out and dropped her to cradle on the ground.

Her hand were coated in the rich red blood and there was some splatters against her neck as well. The sound of her last crackly breath echoed in Jane's mind. Jane dropped to her knees as the tension in her shoulders released. She managed to get the restraints on her hands off by using the keys her former chaperone. She could see burns along the tops of her hands, it still felt like fire was on them.
