Chapter 2
Kalifa’s POV:
I made my way closer to the double doors, opening it and making my way outside, I looked up, and what I saw in front of me made me freeze right on track.
Standing right in the middle of the parking lout was the man himself, Jock. When looking at his boyish face, I felt a little guilty for giving him a blue eye and a busted lip. However, when I noticed the glare he gave me all the guilt melted away and was replaced with hatred, that’s when I noticed that he wasn’t in his school uniform but in tracksuit pants (sweat pants) and a tight fitting shirt, showing off his muscular figure.
Jock was your typical cliché jock, dirty blond hair, tall and athletic, good looking, charming and packed with a whole lot of muscle. But with every muscle growth brain cells die, thus equaling to Jock being a total idiotic stupid boy when it comes to messing with me.
It was just him and me, we just stood there glaring at each other; I kept on clenching and unclenching my fists while he did the same. I noticed that he was clenching his jaw so hard it looked like it might snap. Even though we were meters apart anyone could see the tension and hatred between us, and to be honest we don’t even know how this all started.
I kept glaring at him but after a few moments I got bored, sighing and folding my arms across my chest I gave him a bored look.
“What do you want?” I asked arching an eyebrow at him. He just kept on glaring his mouth pulled up in disgust.
“What I want? I want a lot of things, and one of those things includes you getting the hell out of our school!” He yelled, his face turning red and his body stiff.
That right there was no shocker, though the way he said it sounded like I wouldn’t have a choice but to leave the school. I didn’t really have a dark secret that was so strong as to force me to leave the school if someone found out, though my only secret was that my mother was a witch and I might be one to. The only person that knew that was Principle Pherson and Anrie knew that my family wasn’t normal, but she was happy that she didn’t really need to know about the dark secret we had, though it wasn’t dark at all but you know how humans are.
Everything was silent for a few seconds, I just stared at him with a blank expression.
“You really think I’m going to leave.” giving him an amused look while shaking my head, “I am not leaving, no matter what you do.”
“Oh really, you sure about that?” His face and body went from stiff and anger to smug, I couldn’t help but feel confused, what was he going on about?
“You see Kalifa, I’m not stupid and I also know you’re not a normal girl.” he stated taking a few steps towards me, smiling smugly. I still looked at him confused, of course I’m a normal girl, normal girls usually hangout with friends and beat up idiots they don’t like and- wait, no normal girls don’t beat but guys three times their size, only if they know marshal arts which I know a little. Though normal witches do that, well they do it with magic….
Then it suddenly all clicked, he knew I was a witch. I felt my heart sink while I my face fell in disbelief. Jock noticed because his smug smile turned into a smile of triumph.
“No.” I whispered, how could he have found out? The only person that knows is Mrs. Pherson and she wouldn’t tell anyone.
“Oh yes.” he laughed folding his arm across his chest, making his arm muscles ripple. I could feel my heart beat increasing, my every nerve was on fire. How did he find out?
“How…?” I breathed watching his carefully, feeling my body shake slightly, even though it was summer in the small town of Bethlehem, South Africa, my blood still ran cold with anxiety.
