Poppy stretched out the hair tie with her teeth and fingers as she stuck them in, then opened her jaw to let go of it. "All right, I'll be out in a minute." She told her uncle. She put her hair in a complete ponytail and tightened it, then glanced at her uncle, who watched her as she put the lid on the concealer tube. "You're lingering." She stated, opening the mirror and sticking the concealer on a little shelf.

"My apologies," Elijah places a hand on the doorframe as he turned around to leave, but then he turned around again. "I was listening to a song last night, Bones..." Poppy closed the mirror and turned to give him her full attention. "Something he sang stuck out to me..it's better to have lost than never have loved at all.

His niece sighed and looked away from his eyes. "Thank you," She said with a quiet voice, and her uncle walked away completely. When he did, she brought her fingers back up to her necklace, closing her eyes for a long moment.

She then walked outside to join her family. Klaus, her father, stood by one of the white wooden support beams, leaning his head against it as he looked out at the back yard. He had managed to get two hours of sleep after Poppy woke up, which was good. Kol stood by the food, Elijah was sitting down with a newspaper, Freya sat beside him, and Rebekah stood across from the two of them. Poppy walked to join her father by the beam, turning and leaning her back against the banister. A woman, no doubt compelled, walked by and handed out mimosas in fancy glasses, which Poppy took appreciatively and took a drink of.

"What's the holdup?" Her uncle Kol asked the lot, sounding annoyed and impatient. Klaus and Poppy both turned their heads to look at him. "All right, we rescued Nik and Poppy, we escaped mortal danger- why are we not on a private jet to Saint-Tropez?"

Poppy furrowed her eyebrows. "I never said anything about leaving this country." She told him, taking another drink.

Kol took the newspaper from Elijah and folded it up with one hand, a drink in his other hand. "You can catch up on the last five years when we're on our way, I assure you, you haven't missed much." He told his older brother.

Elijah appeared bothered, but calm. "Circumstances have changed, we will leave here soon enough."

"We have a niece to consider. Two of them." Rebekah agreed.

Freya, however, disagreed with the two. She stood up off of her chair. "Kol has a point. We need to put an ocean between us and Marcel Gerard as soon as possible." She walked to stand between Rebekah and Poppy.

"We're not going anywhere today." Klaus spoke, moving away from the beam. "I want one day of peace with my daughters, before we uproot them."

His eldest sister looked at him. "Any delay is a risk."

"One day. We're in the middle of nowhere, the house is cloaked, we weren't followed, and I'm not asking!" He exclaimed in a demanding tone. His eyes widened when the door opened, and he turned around to see who it was.

Standing in the doorway was Hayley and Hope. Hayley smiled. "Everybody, look who's awake." She placed a hand on her daughter's back. Hope looked around at everyone shyly and nervously.

The lot all moved closer together, all staring at the little girl with warm smiles. Poppy placed her drink on the banister and smiled at her sister, waving a bit. Klaus walked towards Hope a few steps.

"Hello," the little girl greeted with a quiet voice. She looked at him, then looked away, then looked at him again.

"Hello." Klaus continued to stare in awe, unsure of what to say. 5 years was so long, she had grown so fast.

Hope looked up at her mother. "Mom, can I go play in the garden?"

Hayley looked down at her. "Yeah," she answered softly "sure."
