Since Steven's healing spit didn't seem to be working, he took the cracked gem (and the butterfly-shaped gem) with him to Rose's fountain to heal it. Though he hadn't had a clue why he decided to bring the (F/c), butterfly-shaped gem with him when the gem was obviously in perfect condition, he just felt as if it were necessary. He had left the rest of the Crystal Gems at his house with his dad to watch them, and he had quickly explained to him everything that happened before he left on the warp pad.

I've never seen a gem like you before. . . Steven thought as he stared down at the (F/c) gem, dragging his thumb along it soothingly. What are you? The human-diamond hybrid hummed and lifted the gem up closer to his face, examining it. He was currently sitting in front of Rose's fountain while the heart-shaped gem sat in its pale pink waters, healing. He had just gotten there a few minutes ago, but he felt as if he were sitting there for years.

Steven sighed and glanced up at his mother's statue, frowning as he stood up and hugged the (F/c) gem close. "Mom, what did you do?" Steven asked the statue; only to, of course, recieve no response.

Steven sighed and looked down. "Of course. . ." He muttered. He ran his thumb along the corners of the (F/c) gem, an unexplainable look in his eyes. He then stepped over and looked into the fountain to check on the heart-shaped gem, and soon saw that it was now fully healed.

Steven nodded to himself and rolled his sleeve up, to keep it from getting wet, before sticking his hand into the fountain and taking the gem out.

"Guess I better get back to the house, the gems should be reformed by now." Steven said to himself. Then, with a nod, the hybrid turned around and made his way to the warp pad; holding the (F/c) gem close with one hand, and keeping the heart-shaped gem in his pocket with his other hand.

"Hey dad, I'm ba— Whaaaaat is going on?!" Steven quickly hopped off of the warp pad once he saw the sight before him. The gems had regenerated, yes, but they seemed. . . different. Ruby and Sapphire weren't fused — weren't Garnet, Amethyst was back to her. . . beta(?) form, and Pearl was wearing the same thing she had worn when she was Pink Diamonds Pearl.

"Steven!" Greg called out to his son, running over to him with Pearl in toe.

"D-Dad! What's happening? Why aren't the gems. . . the gems??" Steven asked his dad, glancing over to Amethyst, who was now standing behind him and copying his movements.

Greg shrugged and lifted his arms up. "That's what I wanted to ask you! I checked if any of their gems were cracked, but they seemed fine." Greg told as he jabbed his thumb in the direction of the gems, who were all doing their own thing: Pearl was standing next to Greg, with her hands folded in front of her and a polite smile on her face. Ruby was stomping around Sapphire, acting like some sort of bodyguard while the blue gem stood behind her silently. And Amethyst was. . . looking around, that was all.

Steven hummed and placed his hand on his chin in thought, when a warm glow suddenly began to emit from his pocket. The teenage boy gasped and quickly pulled out the heart-shaped gem while Greg stared at it with wide eyes.

"Is that her?" Greg asked, taking a step closer to Steven.

Steven furrowed his brows at the pink gem in confusion. "I don't know."

"Who?"

"No idea."

"Why?"

"No idea."

"How?"

Steven stayed silent for a moment, before pulling something else out of his pocket while the heart-shaped gem continued to glow in his hand, which also held the (F/c) gem.
