I rest my case

Harry went through the next week feeling like something was missing in his day to day ritual. A few weeks went by and there was a sudden rumor that the law firm he worked at was being sold. To his and many other's horror it was confirmed one Monday morning and they were told to accept and work with the new owners in good spirits.
Harry was working in his office when he heard noises from outside. Not being one for gossip harry stayed in his office and continued working. An hour later his secretary walked into his office informing him that he was summoned for an important meeting. Harry put his suit jacket back on from where he placed it on the coat hanger and went to the meeting hall.
He pushed the door open and walked into the meeting hall and took his usual sit on the table. His eyes glanced through who was sitting around the table and saw only the lawyers who were made partner there but there were also a few new faces. He tried not to show his uncomfortableness but he almost fell over when he saw a familiar mop of white hair.
Harry sat back in his chair and studied ted till he felt eyes on him and turned to him. Ted's green eyes went wide when he saw harry sitting there looking at him in confusion. Their eyes stayed locked on each other till Ted's name was called so he could explain how thing would work from here on out.
Harry was a little relieved when he heard the new owners weren't thinking about letting go of any of the lawyers working in the firm and that the lawyers who made partner would remain partners. But he didn't like that his one night stand was now his boss. After the meeting ended and they were excused to go back to work harry walked back to his office and locked the door.
He stayed in there till late. He went through more paper work than he thought he could his frustration feeding his restless energy. He was pulled out of his trance when he heard a knock on the door. He got up and opened the door to see ted standing on the other side. He stepped aside letting him in. ted walked in and sat down on his chair making himself comfortable. Harry kept his face blank of emotions. He didn't want to give what he was feeling away before he figured out what the others intentions.
"I didn't know you were a lawyer" ted said trying to break the cold silence between them
"You do now" harry replied simply
"Or that you worked in this firm" ted added picking up one of harry's pens and twirling it between his fingers
"Is there a reason you're in my office?" harry asked getting irritated
"I didn't want things to be uncomfortable between us you know because we...." Ted trailed off his cheeks going a light shade of pink
"Because we had a one night stand you mean?" harry asked. Ted looked at him for a second trying to figure out what he was feeling but soon looked away
"Yeah" he muttered softly
"we are both professionals it was a onetime thing and you don't have to worry about it. It's already forgotten" harry said
"I was thinking we could....you know ..." ted trailed off not meeting harry's eyes
"What are you trying to say?" harry asked
"I don't know maybe we could have some sort of...arrangement" ted said softly
"You're my boss ted. I don't sleep with people from work" harry said firmly and opened the door for him and ted got up and walked to where he was standing with his head hanged low
"if you ever change your mind....you know where to find me" ted whispered and walked out of his office.
