The dining room is more like a dining hall. It's humongous. Still the only person I've seen is him. He made pancakes, eggs, bacon, toast, waffles, and even a fruit plate. He said he wasn't sure what I liked so he made choices.

"Today," he starts drawing my attention, "I would like to go to the store and pick you up some clothes and maybe to the police department if you feel up to it."

"Clothes? I have perfectly good clothes."

"At your house and it's better for the case if you don't return there for a bit." He interrupts.

"I don't have any money."

"I do."

"I couldn't let you!" I exclaim. "You've already done so much for me!"

"I have more than enough." He looks up at me. "No trouble." I just stare, jaw open, unable to reply. "Then it's settled. We'll be off soon. Do you want different clothes?"

"I'm wha-no, no these are fine thank you." I can't believe this random stranger has taken me in, fed me, and offered to buy me clothes. "Why?" I ask as he gets up.

"Why what?" He looks at me, his face slightly confused before stone again.

"Why are you doing this?" I ask a bit to my surprise. "I'm a complete stranger. You've already done so much."

"You need help. I have a empty house and plenty of money." He looks away and continues, "Everyone should have someone in their time of need." With that he walks away.

We stopped by the police station and filed a report about my father and mother. They said that they will look into it and get back to me when and if they find anything. I went through the whole process, showed them my beaten body, took pictures, and filled out lots of papers. I was thankful for Cain being there with me. It only took a few hours surprisingly.

We ended up going to the mall after. I thanked him plenty of times. I think he was starting to get annoyed but didn't let it show. I ended up going to four stores and buying plenty of outfits. Most of which Cain picked out because I'm and I quote "very indecisive" but overall it was amazing. I've never actually shopped for myself, let alone go to a mall.

The outfit I picked out was pastel yellow sweater and light blue jeans, and Cain said twink again? What even does that mean?! I questioned it and he said, "you're too innocent." Rolled his eyes and walked away to find more clothes.

When he found me again I saw him with a pair of black jeans and a maroon shirt that he got for himself. He also had a few pairs of blue jeans that wasn't dark, which I said I liked. He found a violet shirt and a dark purple shirt. I said I didn't like the dark one, he laughed and put it back then told me to go and look at shoes. Later he found a mint green long sleeve shirt and I found a pair of blue vans.

We continued on shop for a bit till we got hungry and went to the food court.

"Ok your indecisiveness, what do you want to eat?" He looks over at me and I shrug. He then rolls his eyes and walks over to an Italian pizza place. "What do you like on your pizza?"

"Cheese!" I say happily.

"Drink?"

"Lemonade!"

After he orders he takes our number and finds a seat. Thankfully it's not packed here since it's a little past 4.

After eating in silence for a bit I make the first move to start conversation.

"You have a beautiful house." I say not really thinking before it slips out.

"Thank you." he says grinning a bit while he thinks "it has many memories."

"I don't mean to be rude but earlier you mentioned you have a sister?" I didn't want to pry but I'm genuinely curious.

"oh, yes, I do, she died a few years back along with my parents." he pauses and looks away deep in thought. "A drunk driver hit us while we were coming home from a family vacation."

"Where did you all go?" I ask curiously.

"We visited family up in the mountains." He laughs a bit and continues, "my sister, Delilah, and I were on the slopes about to ski down the mountain. She distracted me with a person I thought was cute and when I looked over at the person she pushed me down the mountain. Luckily I caught myself and then proceeded to walk a little bit up the mountain and pull her down with me. Later she told on me and I got in trouble. She was always the favorite." Wow I had no idea, I feel horrible now.

"She sounds lovely." I smile at him even though he doesn't see it because his head is still turned. "I'm sorry for bringing it up though."

"Don't be," he said "I like talking about my family and the memories I had with them." My first impression of him, this tall dark man that felt no love with his stone features, was completely wrong he really did have a heart. "What are you thinking about?" He asks arching a brow at me.

"Who knew, you have a heart!" I say jokingly.
