You never told me; hmm, who are you? What? C'mon, ya know I like you, yeah? Yes, we'll be together forever—us, and only us.
"Hey!" I shout. "Quit lookin' at me like that, yeah?" After I say this, the woman that was looking at me suddenly turns her glance and walks away. Exactly—that's how they all are—no one understands me; after all, we do love each other—I don't care if she's "not legal." BS, I say! Her parents consented, so by law, it was perfectly legal! After all, we do love each other, yeah?

It's just my job, you know? I have to do it; no one else is willing; after all, how else will I make a living? I dropped out of high school, and in this day and age, that means everything's over... So, to make ends meet, I have to do it. Being a hit man is all I know how to do...

People! People everywhere! It's like in this day and age you have to keep one eye open and the other closed! Hah! The one that is open happens to be laughing at all around! I wish I could spit on them all! Heh; look at that guy over there! What is he? Like, nineteen or something? Then... then why.... why is he with a seemingly fourteen year old? Despicable I tell you! Justice! Justice will be brought upon this world! You see, this world needs me! It needs what I am and who I am. And if people don't follow me, well... well, they'll just be left behind!

"Heh," I smirk.
"What is it, Sheriff?" a trainee asks.
"Nothing," I plainly reply. Nothing... nothing indeed... this world... this world... it needs a cleansing... and I hold that power! Why? Because there's despicable people all around! Look over there! There's one over there babbling at the magazine stand! Oh, he's gonna get something! I hate him just by looking at him! Oh, I can sense his naivety of this world! Just because of that, I'm gonna write him up a ticket! Hah! I'm a well respected sheriff! After all, I know I can get away with anything.
* * * * *
No! I can't! I-i-it-it-it's not true! The power did go out! What'll I do now? Oh god! No! God's not real, so why did I mention him like so? Why should I-urgh! No! The therapist that ended up costing too much money-why do I need a therapist anyways? Like, they're-they're not-they just want your money... money... I need money! I quit my job on a whim-I always do things on a whim, why do I-money! Oh for go-I mean for pete's sake-no, people stopped saying "for god's sake" as to not offend the lord, so, like I said before-I need money! Where's my money! I'll go get a new job-a job! Why must people get jobs? I wish I didn't have to get a-I'm gonna get kicked outta this house real soon if I keep this up and-I have to go get a job! OK, I'll head to the job interview-oh! One more game! OK, let's see, the date is-son of a-or I mean-why do I have to swear like that? After all, I am trying to better my life by getting a new job-oh yeah! I have a job interview in a few days! How many days exactly-oh, my next match is starting! Better get to that! No, the power! No, it is out! And today-today is-what's today's date-no, not now! I mustn't get side tracked on video games—I must get to my interview to get more power! Yeah! Today is-my job interview was three weeks ago...

"Ah! Yes, thank you so much!" I say upon being hired by a new company after being transferred by my old job to here.
"Yeah, the previous guy (for some reason) hasn't bothered to show up for three weeks despite us having this position available to him, hah!" says the interviewer. Strange...
Anyways, I am very grateful that I can now live in Mapletree, North Dakota! After all, I did grow up here! I haven't been here since I was about eleven or so! I had a great time going up Main Street with the run down gas station that was recently discovered to be a hide out of the mafia! Yeah, I don't want any business in that!
Anyways, I've been thinking: Mapletree, North Dakota has been surrounded in a sort of, let's say, mystique; yeah, this town has been the place for a number of unknown sightings—from your average gang shootings to even ghosts; however, I don't believe in ghosts. I don't seem to remember everything that went on in this town—it's all just vague memories—that's why I'm glad I came here! to discover that once great "mystique" that I once felt (and apparently other people seem to feel as well). I'm ready to go on a wild ride!
