Shen Wei arrive for his first day at 8 a.m. sharp. Soon after arriving, he gets busy getting ready before CEO Zhao arrive at 9 a.m. This is one of the thing Zhao Yunlan wrote in his portfolio.
"Good morning, Zhang." Shen Wei greets Zhang who just arrive in her desk and she greet him back with a sweet smile, "Good Morning Secretary Shen. You are earlier than everyone. I'm impress."
Shen Wei gives her one of his deathly smile that no one can resist, but smile and blush at the same time. "Please, call me Shen Wei, don't need to be formal with me. We all work together as coworkers and help each other. There is no need for formality, Zhang."
This is too early for you to have heart attack, Zhang! She internally scolds herself and nods in agreement.
"I know you just arrive, but can you please give me all the pent up works of the secretary that I need to look over and work on? I want to get a glimpse over before CEO Zhao comes in at 9 a.m."
"No problem, Shen Wei! But...it's a lots...." Zhang worriedly response back.
"It's alright!" Shen Wei happily reply to her.
For next 30 minutes, Shen Wei looks over at all the documents that piled up during secretary Da's absent. I must say... it is a lot of documents and might have to stay overtime.
Zhao Yunlan come in right at 9 a.m. and go straight to his office, but he glance over at Shen Wei's desk before entering. Shen Wei greets him with good morning, but it goes ignored by Yunlan. Yunlan is cold CEO as always and his coworkers pity Shen Wei because they already like him a lot. Shen Wei is one of those perfect coworker that greets everyone with sincerity and with 'his out of this world beauty', he already has fan group since he first came in to complete the contract last week.
At 10 a.m. Zhao Yunlan call Shen Wei into the office to discuss about a new company that wanting to partner up with Zhao Company. "What time is the meeting with Li Quin?" Yunlan asks Shen Wei.
"It is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at small restaurant that have private room to talk." Shen Wei replies.
"Okay! In the meantime, I want you to complete as much pending documents as you can. I saw you were already working on it this morning" Yunlan compliment which in turn makes Shen Wei smile inwardly. It might not be bad working with his new boss as he initially though.
12:30 at Restaurant
"Over here Mr. Zhao Yunlan and Mr. Shen Wei" a pretty lady greet them warmly when they enter the restaurant. "I'm assuming you, my lovely lady is Li Quin?" Zhao Yunlan greets the pretty lady who is now blushing at Yunlan's statement. Zhao Yunlan of his employees and Zhao Yunlan as working partner is totally two different personas. This is one of Yunlan method in gaining valuable working partners. He is nice, caring and sweet unlike how he acts as the boss. Shen Wei is taken back for a second when he sees the sweet smile that Yunlan gives Li Quin and feel sad for himself because until now Zhao Yunlan haven't smile at him once.
The meeting ended after 30 minutes which is right on schedule. Before Li Quin left, she has invited both of them to her party celebrating opening new branch at Dragon City and Yunlan happily accepted the request. Shen Wei recall smiling at her while bidding Li Quin goodbye but inside he was fretting over the upcoming party tonight.
Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan have been working on their respective works for the rest of their working day until they have to leave for the party which is at 8 in the evening. Everyone have left for the day already since it is 5 p.m. right now.
"Shen Wei, come in for a minute" Yunlan's voice could be heard through intercom.
"What can I do for you, CEO Zhao?"
"How much more do you have left to complete with the documents?" Yunlan asks Shen Wei without looking up from the papers he is working on?"
"I completed about two-third" Shen said. That made Yunlan look up at him for few seconds and said "You already finish with two-third of the documents?" not believing what he heard. A normal secretary would takes at least two full days to complete all the pent up works, and that is still on fast side.
"Yes, you can check if you don't think I did it correctly." Shen Wei offers, not taking offense because its it understandable and this is their first time working together.
"Okay, bring in all the paper works that you have completed so far and afterward go get me dark coffee and something sweet to eat."
"Of course, CEO Zhao." After giving all the completed documents to Zhao Yunlan, Shen Wei goes out to get dark coffee and sweets that Yunlan want.
I'm impress, Wei. You are really good what you do; short but concise, accurate and simple but professional! No wonder your previous boss didn't want to let you go,Yunlan said to himself.
After 15 minutes, Shen Wei returns with dark coffee, Raspberry Almond Crumb tart, and Berries and Cream tart. He put the tarts in a small dessert plate with little fork. He knock three times before entering. When he enters, Yunlan is sleeping in the couch and piles of documents in desk with his signature. Shen Wei slowly put the coffee and tarts down on the table near the couch and he use Yunlan's suit jack to cover him. He is about leave to continue his work when Yunlan suddenly pull Shen Wei into his embrace and continue to sleep.
Shen Wei didn't know what to do. Yunlan is obviously sleeping or else there is no way the cold CEO will be hugging him when he never smile at him, not even once. Just thinking about it makes his heartache. He try to wiggle out couple of times, but that only makes Yunlan embrace him tighter and tighter so Shen Wei gives up trying. Shen Wei can't help but notice the handsome face that is perfectly sculpted. And the masculine cologne that Yunlan's body gives off making poor Shen Wei's body heats up. About good 15 minutes of gazing at sleeping Yunlan, slumber also takes over him. Under Yunlan's warm embrace, Shen Wei can't help but feel relax and safe for unknown reason.
Zhao Yunlan wakes up after 30 minutes of taking short nap and is shock to see Shen Wei sleeping with him on the couch. Their faces are only couple inches apart from touching. To his dismay, he notice that he is the one who is trapping Shen Wei to himself. Realizing his mistake, he tries to get up right away, but freezes when he hears "hmmm, don't move, its cold....couple more minutes please, didi?" Shen Wei pleas and continues to sleep. It's like his own body is afraid of moving a single muscle that might wake up the sleeping angel in his arm who is now moving closer to his chest and wrap his arm around Yunlan's waist.
Yunlan, get hold of yourself! Just push him out of your arm, it's that simple!Yunlan tries to convince himself, but can't bring himself to wake Shen Wei. ARGGGG!!! Yunlan screams in frustration internally and feel defeated because the peaceful sleeping face of his wife is making his resolves weaken.
