Niyah's Pov//

"How did you know about that?"

"It was one of the first things I asked the doctors about.. I know how much it means to you. Competitions are coming up and it was your key to scholarships." He's right.. but it's not the end of the world.

"Was? It was my key?" Guess that means they told him I won't be healed in time for competitions. "I- I mean they don't know for sure you might be able to pull through." He smiles but I know he's just trying to make me feel better.

"Did Charlie ever come? To visit me while I was asleep?" Please say yes... "No, not yet. Don't take it to heart she's probably just waiting to come early in the morning." Let's hope he's right. With my foot, and everything else now I want her beside me.

Niyah's Pov//

"Have I ever told you how pretty you are?" I ask Ethan, he's sitting in the back seat of the truck with me while Grayson drives. We're on our way to the apartment since the doctors cleared me to go home today, but my pain medication is starting to take over me. It makes me feel drowsy and out of it.

"Niyah... please just take a nap..." He slightly giggles. "If I go to sleep who is gonna tell you how pretty you are?!" My hands lazily cup his cheeks. "I'm sure Grayson will let me know how pretty I am.." He pries my hands from his cheeks.

"It won't be the same. He's biased, cause y'all look the same." I sigh leaning my head against the window. "Niyah please go to sleep." Grayson says making eye contact with me through the mirror.

"Baby, just shut up and take me home." I mumble halfway out of it. "Did you just call him baby?" Ethan giggles confused, and even in my twisted state I realized I just slipped up.

"Yes baby I did. Problem?" I ask looking out my window. "None at all..." he answers.

A few twits and turns in the car and we make it to the apartment. The doctors gave me crutches but I'm so messed up right now that I guess the twins don't wanna let me use them. "I can walk on my own ya know." Ethan carries me to their door holding me, waiting for Grayson to open the door.

"Not right now you can't. Come on I got you." Once the door opened he went straight to my room lying me down gently on my bed. "You're so pretty... I hate it." I complain examining his face.

"Yeah right, you're one to talk. When I first met you I had to do a double take." He says with a smile, he's just trying to be nice. "Oh please, you could actually have any girl ever. Any-"

"Just not the one I really what" I hear him sigh, I hate that he feels like this. "I herd that, listen ok... you need a girl Ethan. I know she's pissed at me right now, but I think you should go for Charlie."

"Charlie? I don't see her like that. I did kind of in the beginning but she's not who I want." He shrugs, he needs to understand that he has to move on from this crush. "When I'm not like this... we're gonna have a talk a long one. For now I want to sleep." I giggle before closing my eyes giving into my sleepiness.

Niyah's Pov//

"I know you have a gash in your foot, but I'm still throwing this year's Halloween party." Clair shrugs eating some of her house lo mein, the twins are out so me and Clair are chilling here at their place. We ordered Chinese take out so we're just sitting at the table eating, and talking.

"I didn't expect you to cancel. So where is it gonna be, don't tell me wait. It's at Hudson's place isn't it?" I giggle already knowing how this was about to go down. "Uh duh, anyways it will be at 8:00. I expect you to be there no later than 7:30 to help me set up and you're gonna be-"

"Wait you want me to set up, and attend the party? Clair you are hilarious." Where is the punchline, because she must me joking.

"I'm serious, and there is nothing you can say to stop me from making it happen." She smiles eating more of her food. I just sigh she's stubborn, but I live her. The room just get quiet with neither of us saying anything.

"So, you wanna tell me what you've been so silent about?" She asks me, I've been thinking about telling her all night. I'm just scared of what she's gonna say to me. "Ok, I've wanted to tell you something for a minute. It's just that we have all been getting along and we thought it'd be best to tell no one, but-"

"But I'm your best friend so you're going to tell me anyway." She says nodding, drinking some of her water. God, she took the words out of my mouth.

"Me, I- Grayson and I have been secretly together." I search her face, waiting for her reaction. "Clair, say something." Her not saying anything makes my heart beat speed up.

"I, I'm shocked. I mean I saw it coming, but I didn't think you hide it you son of a whore!" She yells giggling making me relax. "You're ok with it?"
I ask relieved, so relieved. "Of course I am. You've liked him since the beginning, and I mean let's face it he's hot. I just was lowkey, never mind..." Oh no she doesn't.

"Never mind? Not you holding your tongue. Spit it out." She playfully rolls her eyes and sighs. "Ok, since you asked. I was gonna say, I was lowkey voting for you and Ethan.." She shrugs. Um, WHAT?!

"You're joking right?" I hope she says yes. "No, I'm deadass serious. He clearly likes you and has been waiting on you from the beginning. You can't tell me you don't see the puppy dog eyes he gives you, or how his eyes lit up when you said yes to being his date to met Galla. I don't doubt Grayson likes you, but Ethan is in love with you. You two being a secret is probably for the best." She says and shrugs, leaving me stunned.

I never noticed any of those things, I just thought he had a crush... is Ethan in love with me?

"You guys got take out? Without us? Ouch.." Ethan says coming through the door with Grayson behind him. "You can have the rest of mine. I'm full, plus I was about to head out." Clair says as she gets up leaving the seat next to me empty.

"But we just got here, you don't want to stay and hang?" Grayson asks her as she reaches the door, she better stay. She's about to leave me here shocked. "I'm good, unlike you two I have homework and school tomorrow." She laughs opening the door.

"Ouch, the drop out card." Grayson says acting offended as she leaves. "Well uh, I think I'm gonna get ready for bed..." I give a fake semi half smile and grab my crutches. "You okay?" Grayson asks. "Great." Lie.

"You sure? You're quiet and you seem off. Wanna watch Vampire Diaries and talk about it..?" Ethan says taking the seat Clair was just in. "Not tonight, I'm fine I'm really just tired, thanks though." My crouches take their place under my arms and I make my way to my room. When I reach my room door it's opened for me by Grayson who I didn't know was behind me. I step inside and so does he.

He doesn't close the door all the way but he leaves it cracked. "You sure you okay?" He asks and nod. "I'm good I swear. Thanks for asking though." I smile, he really does care.

"Of course, just let me know if you need anything." He leans in to kiss me and I hesitantly kiss him. I don't hesitate on purpose but I do, and he could tell. "Night." I smile.
