~POV Y/N~
I rush up the stairs and head straight for the lobby. I lift my pistol and remove the suppressor.
"What if I mess up?" I asked nervously wringing my hands.
She smiled and stroked my hair gently. "Just breathe," She said softly.
Deep breath in...
I raise my pistol.
And out.
BANG!
"Now get out there and show em' who's boss."
I run for the offices in the opposite direction of the ER.
Phase 1 here we go. I sling my backpack over my shoulder and pull out my repurposed knife trap. I set it up then hook it up to the grenade.
I loop around the halls setting up traps on the first floor as fast as I can.
I know due to their protocol if a shot is fired in the lobby search the place from top to bottom. I am surprised they made my suggestion standard protocol. Let alone kept it after I left. But they are idiots so what do you expect.
5 charges set on the first floor at each patrol point.
On to phase 2. Misdirection. I rush to the middle of the first floor and fire another shot. Play it off as an accident. "Shit!" I shout forcing my voice to go deeper than usual. I am so going to regret that later.
I rush out one of the side doors and painfully scale up the overhang. I. Hate. Shotguns. I look over to my arm. Bad idea to lunge at a guy whose been brainwashed or anyone with a gun. I need to remind myself just because I have a really high pain tolerance does not mean I am invincible.
I look over to my arm. But I did manage to avoid most of the spread so that is a plus.
I forgot bandages. Of all the things. I groan and cut the bottom of my shirt off with one of her knives.
"You really like my knives, don't you?"
I shake my head and put up the knife. I do not need this right now.
I wrap the straps of cloth around the wound and tie it. Close enough. I pull out a mag and slip it into my belt along with my machete and my last three grenades. I put the pistol to the glass and wait.
I pull the trigger as an explosion goes off. I push through the glass as the second one goes off. I doubt many more will fall for the traps. I also doubt they will be able to disable them. I push past the doors and peak out into the hall and see a patrol squad.
I pull back as 5 automatics start firing at once. Okay, maybe they are not as foolish as I thought. I pull out a grenade. Make it seem like there is more than one enemy."Take this you bloody arseholes!" I shout in an Irish accent as I pull a pin and throw one of the grenades.
BANG!
I peak out. Down for the count. I sprint down the hall gun raised. Think AJ, what is the fastest way to the top floor... Now I'm drawing blank here! Come on!
"Just Breathe."
In... and out.
The lobby. It's risky but it's my best option. I sprint down the hall gun raised. I check each hall with my hand mirror before I rush through.
