A Twist of Anything and Everything || Extended Series

The first day back was quiet. After moving through the Avengers facility, announcing to the world- or rather Earth 616- that she was not in fact deceased, Naomi Swanson spent a pleasant evening chatting with Tony and, of course, Loki, who had been practically glued to her side. Not that she particularly minded- even with Tony's teasing. Naomi explained the situation with Smith and the Watchers, displaying her new Nokia phone that could apparently traverse dimensions- though its brick-like design made Tony gag.

It wasn't perfect- her lower arms were still bandaged and hurting incessantly, and there was countless tasks left to do. But for the moment, the three of them simply sat in the lounge, taking some much needed time to relax. For the first time in a long time, there was no longer any threat of impending doom lurking over them. Just boring, everyday life. Just the thought of it made Naomi smile. Until a sudden thought struck her.

"Oh, I should probably FaceTime Peter now, huh." She said, realizing how late it was getting. It was a weekend, so it would probably be fine to keep the kid awake with what would undoubtedly be a long call.

"He'll probably try to swing over here." Tony shrugged, but she could hear the fondness in his voice. It was nice to see Tony accept his role as Peter's father-figure, since the kid definitely saw him as one.

"The spider-child is quite amusing." Loki commented, shifting his position slightly. Currently, he and Naomi were sat together, sharing a couch as Tony lounged on the adjacent one. Loki's arm rested around her, his hand occasionally giving her shoulder a light squeeze- perhaps to give himself extra assurance that she was there. Tony had eyed their position a few times, but chose not to comment.

"Here," Tony said, reaching into his pocket to pull out a phone. "You can use mine for the call. God knows yours is trashed." He swiped it a few times to unlock, and handed it to Naomi, who took it gingerly. 

"Oo, I get to use the Tony Stark's phone. Lucky me." She grinned teasingly.

"You get to use one of them." Tony corrected, wearing his signature smug look. Naomi simply rolled her eyes. "Will you be okay though? With your hands?" He said, becoming more serious. Naomi smiled, resisting the urge to roll her eyes again and reminding herself that he had a right to be concerned- especially after her death scare.

"I'll be fine. I think I can hold a phone." She tapped on the the contacts icon, preparing to type 'Peter' into the search. However before she could finish typing, Tony interrupted.

"You know what Hepburn, why don't you take the call in the other room." His sudden suggestion surprised the couple, who looked at him with raised brows.

"Uh, why?" She asked. Tony's eyes flickered from her to Loki, his expression serious. Naomi saw it coming before Tony actually spoke, since she had been dreading this moment for a while. It was inevitable though, so she could only hope that by the time she returned from talking with Peter, both men would still be intact.

"I just wanna have a chat with Romeo here." Tony spoke, gaze locked onto Loki, who seemed slightly confused by the man's sudden change in mood. Naomi mused that, maybe they didn't go through this sort of thing on Asgard,.

"We've been speaking this entire time. I fail to see why Naomi should leave." Loki said, not impolitely but still with some level of tension. No doubt he left anxious about being separated from her so soon after getting her back, even if Naomi would only be in the other room.

"It's okay, Loki," she placed a hand on his knee, "Tony just wants to go over some stuff. But he'll make it quick." She gave Tony a pointed look, her annoyance with him on full display. The genius only grinned in response, clearly enjoying this. Loki, on the other hand, was less than thrilled. But, there was no use in fighting when both parties were against him. So with a frustrated sigh, he caved.
