"How can we get closer into the city?" Emet asked as he fixed his pants. I was watching some of the guards in the distance and a thought popped into my head. "We have to blend in." I mused. I turned to the others. "We need to get that uniform." I explained as I pointed off to the guards.
"And how do we do that?" Matt grunted. "We make a diversion and then jump them." I said simply. Matt rolled his eyes and groaned. "Matt, as you're so interested in the plan, you make the diversion." If looks could kill, I would've been dead in seconds. The looks Matt was giving me!
I spotted an alleyway off next to a building "So go find a small group of guards, we'll be hiding in that alleyway." I added. Matt started jogging off, swearing under his breath.
The rest of us went off to the alleyway and hid behind a large garbage bin. "Hey!" I heard Matt yell as we hid. He started running off in this direction as ten guards followed him. He passed us as we jumped up from the bin and started fighting the guards. I punched a guard in the face as he tried to shoot me with his laser-gun. He fell to the ground, unconscious. I sent a few more punches around and I saw Zach hit two guards head's together and they fell unconscious to the ground. The rest Hilary was dealing with. I sent a few more hits around and soon after, all the guards were unconscious.
"What do we do with them now?" Matt panted. "We need to blend in, so why not look like a guard?" I smiled at my plan. "Take the uniforms." I commanded. We started taking the grey Ruler 1 uniforms and keeping a few spare. We then got changed into them and took the weapons also. We kept our old items in our backpacks. I started studying their weapons which I placed in the belt of the new uniform. But all of us also kept our other belt on.
The red stripe.
I forgot about it! I started rubbing off the black stripe which was already over my eyes as I searched for the red paint. I found it in the soldiers belt. I informed the others to do the same. I got Hilary to paint the stripe on for me as I watched the sun go down. Time passed really quickly. I made a decision to sleep in the alleyway tonight and I told the others.
I enjoy being in-charge.
The sun set and a few hours after of contemplating the heist plan and a lot of bickering. Emet and Hilary fell asleep on each other which was cute. I sense something between them, and it isn't hatred. Matt went off but I didn't know where. That left me with Zach...Fun.
I sat down against the wall away from the others and Zach joined me. "Hey." He greeted and I noticed him smiling under the moonlight. I've been thinking about Zach, a lot. About our relationship. And I have to do something now that'll break his heart. But I really don't care anymore, I don't care about him as I used to. And I will never feel the same way as I used to before. Love is stupid, and I don't want it in my life.
"I'm saying sorry now." I broke the awkward silence. He had his full attention to me. His chocolate brown eyes on my blue ones. Deep down, I still want him to be mine. Deep, deep down.
“I can’t stay with you.” I murmured. “Why?” He replied. Our breaths mixed in the small space between our faces. “Because, you’re one of them.”
I turned my head around so I didn’t have to stare at his face. “There are worse enemies out there Krista.” He pleaded. “But you are the worse there is.”
He looked at me with a pained expression. "Not even friends?" He whimpered. I sighed as I shook my head. "I can never trust you again." His face quickly turned from heart-break to anger. "It's not my fault I'm with the Enfirma. I thought you would be different, Krista. Someone I could love, and someone that could accept me for who I am. I am ashamed of who I am, but I thought you wouldn't care. I was horribly wrong." He quickly stood up and stormed off.
I stared at my hands, it felt like a ton of bricks was taken off my shoulders. But there's a problem now. The colour drained from my face as I thought about it. Zach is no longer here to protect me from the Enfirma. He'll do anything to kill me now.
I've never felt so scared.
I'll need to be much more aware. And after his mission, I'm off again. I walked over to the sleeping Emet and Hilary and sat a close distance to them. I rested my head on the brick wall behind me and closed my eyes.
Did I just make the wrong decision with Zach?

I apologise to the people who find this story boring. I try my hardest when I write. And for all my readers who also write, you know how hard it is to come up with an interesting chapter every time. Thank you all who do enjoy this story. I love you all!
