" So class, What does 5n+25+(-25) equal, if n equals 40? Anyone? How about you Sophie?"

Alarmed upon hearing my name, I quickly sit up straight in my chair, and I start to feel a head rush coming on.

"25?" I blurt out, my head still aching. I hear a few snickers, realizing my mistake, I stammer as I correct myself.

"40, no.. yeah, the answer is 200 " "Which one is it Sophie?" "The answer is 200 I am sure." "so 200 is your final answer?" "Yes"

It was too late to second guess myself anyway. Mr. Jones was already giving me look , persuading me to explain. On a normal circumstance I would have been perfectly fine giving on an explanation. But Mr. Jones has caught me daydreaming and staring blankly at the wall, and would not waste an opportunity to one up me.

"Yes, i am very sure the answer 200. I know this because, if you add -25 and positive 25, they cancel each other out. leaving you with the equation of 5n. When you are told that n equals 40, all you have left to to is multiply 5 and 40 which equals 200."

"You are Correct! Now can everyone please stay with me, i know this is the last period of the day but I still need your cooperation."Mr Jones announced obviously aiming the comment towards me.

It's not like I wasn't the only one dozing off. Abby was tweeting a hilarious pic of Mr. Jones talking mid sentence with a funny face. I already favourited it. And Sean uploaded a vine, while we were taking a test, it was of him egging someone's house. It's already got 500 loops! it was probably all him though.

Some how everyone else in class managed to get away with sneaking their phones. And I couldn't even manage to get away with day dreaming.

At last I heard the bell sounding then end of the school day ring, Mr. Jones struggled furiously to get homework passed out, then realized that he would not accomplished the task. There was no way I was going to wait for him to embarrass me again, by waiting for him to pass out the worksheet, so I put up my chair as fast as I could and bolted out of that class and headed out of the school to get on my bus.

Unfortunately, a few kids in my math class are on my bus, so light teasing obviously occurred. i shook it off though, because really they are just whispers of people trying to get attention. It always happens, but if you feed into it you give them what they want, and that's attention, so I laugh with them and jokingly try make fun of myself by mimicking what i said. Finally, my stop came.

"Mmmm Psssttt" "Please stay clear as we stop" the bus and bus driver worked together to scare off wandering cars, roaming the streets aimlessly. After I was out of harm's way, I walked off the bus. "Today has been a tough day." I say to myself. "A bowl of ice cream should suit the occasion." I said aloud to myself with a smile. I started my walk on my driveway, still thinking about that bowl of ice cream, when I realized I should get the mail as I always do. I turned back around and started to trek all the way back down my driveway to retrieve the mail.

"Over the Driveway and through the grass to the mailbox we goo! My feet know the way, blindfolded you say? Through the white and drifted snow, i don't if you've been told but I can do as I'm told" I sing a parody medley of Christmas songs trying to get myself into the Christmas mood. "Oh My Gosh! What am I doing? Why am I even thinking of Christmas! It's only November 10th! Oh Gosh! It must be because I just went to the mall and they were playing all the holiday songs in the stores! Ugh!" I exclaim aloud

As i approach the mailbox, I can already see something is wrong. It's not exploding with mail. It Appears to be empty. "Noooo, this can't be! We always have mail!" exasperated I looked around the mailbox to see if our tiny mailbox may have let out any mail, and I noticed a letter in my peripheral vision. It looks to be stuck to the inside roof of the mailbox. I pryed it loose and examined it. The calligraphy on it was amazing, such detailed work. I didn't recognize the handwriting. It read:

Sophie Ann Emeretta Wilson
72 Vined Willow Drive

There was no return address or any information of the sender on the envelope. Another vital thing the letter was lacking was my state. Deciding to show my parents when I got inside, I jogged back up my twisted driveway, questions building up inside my head rapidly, just begging to be set free. I grabbed my key from my backpack, and opened the door with the sealed envelope still in my hands. and my questions find their way to my mouth, I start speaking rapidly. "SoIgotthisletterandithasmyfullnameonit and nooneelseinthefamilyknowsmyfullname but youguys."I inhale deeply, then open my eyes, and see no one sitting on the couch waiting for me, disappointed that I just wasted my breath, and slightly disappointed, I check my phone to see if my parents texted me to sat they would be late, like they usually do. Nothing. Not even a call. Now suspicious I see a handwritten note. "They never write notes" I said allowed my voice being the only thing holding back tears and preparing myself for the worst. I decided to read the note aloud:

"Got to go, had to make a quick trip be back sdtasdfj...."

The rest of the note was unreadable, obviously written in haste. "Dad's phone probably died so he wrote a note" I though to myself. At that moment I realized my older sister Meg was not home. Nervous and in a panic I texted her then realized that she was at lacrosse practice till 5. Still curious about the letter and note I had abruptly received, I wanted to open it. "Maybe I should open it, or i could wait till Mom and Dad or Meg comes home, or a could have my ice cream" I pondered aloud to myself.

Considering all the pros and cons,

I decide to go with the ice cream as I continue with my examination of the note. I was still wondering about how whoever sent this knew my full name only 3 people know my full name, and I made them all swear not to tell anyone because I think the name Emeretta is embarrassing. If my parent's alibi along with meg's match, then who sent the note? And why? "May as well open it it guess, It will be awhile till anyone comes home" I say. I took a seat at my kitchen counter top

Before I open the envelope it do a walk through of my house to reassure myself that no one was there. i carried a fry pan and walked around all the rooms on the first floor, and decided it was safe. I walked back to the kitchen, and keeping the stainless steel pan within reach, i carefully opened the letter with a butter knife. "Swish, RoooOOp, swiish" the letter is now open. I close my eyes as i delicately take out the folded paper. I opened my eyes and gasped at the letter, then processed to place it on my counter top.
