Peridot woke up in Lapis's arms. She hugged Lapis tightly and the sat up. Feeling the touch of the other, Lapis woke up as well.
"Hey," Lapis said kindly looking at Peridot.
Peridot was a bit startled, but then replied. "Yeah?"
"Thanks for helping me last night. That was one crazy nightmare," Lapis told Peridot.
"Oh, it was no problem." Peridot responded.
Lapis pulled peridot into a hug. "Sorry that you were feeling so down last night, what happened?" Lapis asked.
"I had, you know who flashbacks..." Peridot replied.
"You wanna share?" Lapis asked.
"Mmhmm" she responded. "It was of a lot of things, but basically, it was Jasper reminding me how useless I am. Like she says, 'I'm just a Peridot, my opinion doesn't matter' and she's right. I was just made to fix things and fallow orders. That's the only reason I was made, the only reason I'm still alive, and the only thing that I'm good for." The small gem stated.
"No! No, no no! You're more than that. You're more than some technician! You're a companion, you're funny, you're so many wonderful things!" Lapis said praising the fragile little gem. "And you know what else? You're a clod, but you're my clod," Lapis remarked, flirting a little.
"That's my word" Peridot said.
Lapis giggled a bit, tightening her grasp around Peridot. "You're special to me. Your salty personality is unique and irreplaceable. There may be trillions of Peridots in this universe, but there's only one
Peridot Facet-2F5L Cut 5XG. And that Peridot," Lapis said in such a caring and loving tone, "is my favorite."
