Mario and Luigi: Darkness In Light

Luigi yelled as he swung his blades at Mario, but he blocked it as he blasted him with a dark fireball. Luigi moved out of the way and he threw one of his blades at him. Mario hit it away and Luigi attacked him, but their weapons only kept colliding with each others. In a flash of shadows and light they continued to collide. They were both moving fast left and right, evenly matched.

Mario managed to hit Luigi into the ground as he grunted in pain. Luigi looked up and his eyes widened seeing Mario come down at him at full speed. Luigi quickly backflipped off the ground as Mario's scythe made contact into the ground. He growled in annoyance, his pitch black eyes burning with rage.

"Hold still you useless nobody!" Mario threw his scythe at him and blasted multiple dark fireballs at him. Luigi blocked the scythe, but he winced in pain as he felt four of the fireballs hit him. He quickly hit the others away as he shook the burning sensation off. Luigi tightened his grip around his weapons.

Useless...

Nobody...

Those two words hurt him, hit him like a nail in the back of the head. Those words filled him with sadness, yet anger at the same time. Hurt and sadness...but that's what Mario wants. He wants him to feel hurt, his hurt. Luigi shook his head, trying to get those thoughts out of his head.

However, he gasped seeing Mario running towards him again. Mario threw his scythe at him, but Luigi threw one of his blades at him. When they both collided, they both let out a powerful force that drove the duo back. They both grunted in pain as they fell to the ground.

Luigi coughed as he got to his hands and knees. He shakingly stood up as he was catching his breath. However, Mario looked completely fine as if he could fight forever.

"Had enough yet?" Mario smirked as he slowly walked towards him, the tip of his scythe scratching the ground as if it was trying to make it sharper than before. "I can tell you're tired, Luigi. You really think the light will win? Do you really think YOU will win? You're not as strong as I am...and you'll never be."

"..." Luigi yelled as he ran straight at him. Mario only smirked as he blocked his blades as Luigi tried to push him back.

"You think you actually defeat me? I've been fighting more battles than you! You just sit at home and wait. What experience does that give you? You just sit and wait like a parent with their kid."

"Shut up!" Luigi pushed him back as he shot a thunderbolt at him, but Mario only hit it away.

"You think you actually mean anything to me? To everyone? You belong in the shadows Luigi, MY shadow! No matter what you do, everyone will still know you as player two, the green stache...and as the Green Mario!"

"S-SHUT UP!" Luigi blasted more thunderbolts at him as he could feel tears begin to form in his eyes. Luigi threw both of his blades at him as he ran towards him. Mario hit the two blades away and he threw his scythe in the air as he grabbed onto Luigi's fists as he tried to push him back. Mario laughed as he still kept his grip on his fists.

"Why bother fighting back, Luigi? You can't beat me! I've always been better than you! You WANT to kill me! Just admit it! You want to take my place!" He exclaimed.

"N-No I don't!" Luigi exclaimed as he shoved Mario away from him and he yelled as he kicked him in the chest and he grunted in pain as he hit the ground. Mario put his hand on his chest as he got on his hands and knees. Luigi looked up and he saw the scythe coming down towards him. He jumped up and caught it by the handle, but he winced as he felt the darkness from it...but he didn't care.
