The vehicle convoy carrying the Japanese Prime Minister, Takaguchi Kawa, pulled up to the main entrance of the cabin as we waited at the door with our security detail. We barely hold our smiles for him as he descended from the SUV at the front and approached us with his security detail behind him. "Mr. President, Madam Vice President." He acknowledged with a smile. "I know that your country is undergoing a turbulent time but I hope that you're not affected by it."
"Oh no Mr. Prime Minister. We're here because the Secret Service thinks that we're also one of the targets, so we're here in lock down." the president replied. "Please, this way." he led the prime minister into the cabin while the prime minister and I begun a conversation in Japanese.
"How bad is the situation?" he asked me.
"It's much more dangerous I'm afraid." I say. "We have six people dead but we know who is behind their deaths."
"I heard that your husband was escorted back from his vacation in Italy."
"No choice." I said. "They believed that he could be in danger as well."
"He must be a very unlucky man right now."
"Although he wasn't interested in Washington he had no choice but to comply." I said as dad opened the door. Entering the cabin Bruce was sitting on the couch watching international news and he stood up when he met eyes with us. "Bruce, this is the Prime Minister of Japan, Takaguchi Kawa. Mr. Prime Minister, my husband, Bruce Wayne." Smiling he extended a hand and shook hands with the Prime Minister.
"An honor to meet." he quipped. The prime minister then turned to talk to the president regarding an issue while I stood beside Bruce.
"Part of your job?" he asked.
"The nature." I reply. "Well we're here covertly, nobody knows where we are."
"But you're keeping the country running."
"Secretary Mattis is watching the satellites. He is just one phone call away."
"Mattis? General Matthew Mattis?"
"Sec. of Defense. Yeah, the military strongman in the Pentagon. He's still arguing with me and the president to raise the DEFCON level and we told him to Double Take instead of Round House."
"You're not leaking government information are you Madam Vice President?" the President whipped his head to ask me, briefly turning away from the prime minister.
"No, I wasn't." I said, making a face. Still he frowned before turning back to the prime minister, but then my phone buzzed in my pocket. Pressing the phone against my ear I sneaked out of the cabin to listen. "Secretary Mattis?"
"Thank God that I got hold of you right now Madam Vice President." the general exclaimed.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, hang on a minute there Matthew. What is it?"
"It's him, we found him." the secretary said, panting. "But every leadership, from Congress to the Senate are now on their way to the underground bunkers."
"Jesus, what did he do?" I ask.
"We're still tracking him, he is now on the move."
"Christ, please don't tell me that he's out murdering people again."
"Wait a sec... oh shit."
"What? What, Secretary Mattis?"
"Get out of there!" he screamed. "They have a lock on your location! They're coming in droves."
"What-?" my question came to a halt as I heard the sounds of the gunfire of automatic weapons. Turning on my heels I sprinted back into the cabin and kicked the door shut. Agent Barrowman and Agent Brock are already standing by when they heard the reports from their fellow agents.
"Yeah, we know already. Get both President Reagan and Prime Minister Kawa in the secured bunker immediately."
"What about my daughter?" both agents looked at each other.
"All agents, drop us a perimeter of the Armed Forces." I took the radio from him and held it. "This is Lieutenant Isabella Reagan, I want the leader alive."
"Affirmative Madam Vice President." the man replied from the other side.
"Hold up. I'm not done yet." I spoke into the radio again. "Deploy at least two Vipers. Look out for the leader, Lucas Wintergreen. I want him alive."
"Yes ma'am." I tossed the radio back to the senior agent and he clutched it in his hands.
"That's how you fight back your enemy in a military sense."
"Yes Sarge." Brock quipped.
"Now, get all the personnel, us included, into the secure bunker and lock it down." I ordered. Making our way past the kitchen Brock carefully unlocked a metal door and ushered our entry, with him standing at the front.
"All clear, we're locking down the room." Barrowman called from behind. He slammed the metal door shut and locked the hatch in place.
"Were you in the military before?" the prime minister asked.
"Twice, South Korea and West Point. I am a ground trooper and a fighter jet pilot. Two years and ten months I have spent in Afghan and Syria. I led Operation Battle Desert." Entering the bunker everyone is already inside. The TV screens built in the bunker showed all angles around the cabin that is covered by the CCTV cameras.
"Prime Minister Kawa." the three rose from their seat and greeted the man. I stood in front of the screens with my arms folded, watching the team of Secret Service agents taking down the invading forces. Barrowman passed on his radio to me as he too watched the situation unfold.
"Status people?" I asked.
"Viper inbound! Three klicks away!"
"Any Viper on site yet?"
"One Viper on the scene! Repeat! One Viper present!" Looking at the TV screen we watched as the attack helicopter flew down and unleashed hell upon the unsuspecting men.
"Where the hell is the second Viper?" I asked. "Pilot of Black Hawk, talk to me."
"All clear madam. Hostiles down but no sign of Viper Two."
"Who's the leader of the ground troops?" I asked Barrowman.
"Corporal Lincoln Clarke." an immediate reply.
"Corporal Clarke, it's Lieutenant Reagan, did you obtain sight of Alpha target?"
"No ma'am, we're scouting the perimeter. No sign of Alpha target."
"Dammit." I cursed. "Keep looking and report back."
