Making friends

"Wow. Ok then, just ruin the moment like that." Clement says as he starts laughing. We both let go of each other and we start walking to catch up with the others that were already walking back to the school.

"How'd it go out there?" Marlon asks as he keeps walking with everyone following behind him.

"How do you think it went?" Aasim responds to Marlon with an attitude.

"Be nice, Aasim." Brody says, defending the leader.

"The safe zone's nearly dry--I could barely find enough for tonight. We're gonna have to scout out further if we want food for the winter." Asim says. His statement caught my attention. Why wouldn't they go out their 'safe zone' if there's no food IN the 'safe zone'. I look over at Marlon silently questioning him on what Aasim meant. Marlon and I then make eye contact but he quickly breaks it and faces forward again.

"We'll talk about it later." Marlon says rather calmly as he keeps walking.

"Bullshit, we should talk about this right now!" Aasim says with an angry tone while he looks at Marlon. But Marlon walks past Aasim, bumping him with his shoulder.

"I said later, damn it." Marlon said as he sped up his pace to get back to the school.

"Still standing, I see. I'd call that a B-plus performance there, Vi. You've done better." Louis says as he walks in between me and Clem, while Violet is on Clem's other side.

"Fuck off." Violet says as she gives Louis the middle finger, and he clutches his heart in a mock offense.

"B-minus, then. Now, Clem here? That was an A!" Louis said as he pats Clem on his shoulder.

Clement chuckles, and then turns to Violet and says, "Um, you kicked ass, Violet. A-plus." Clement then sends a big smile her way. I can't help but notice the way he is looking at her, his eyes are sparkling just by looking at her, like she's the most amazing girl ever, but it can't mean anything right? It's nothing, he just met this girl, he can't have feelings for her already...right?

"I know." Violet says as she looks away from him. Does she like him? No...this is just my head playing tricks on me, it's all fine, I am overreacting.

"You're both delusional." Louis says, and then he looks over to me and says, "Oh! Now, our girl (y/n) here got an A! An A-plus plus plus even!"

"Yup, I'm pretty much a badass." I say as I chuckle.

"And she's modest! Do the wonders never cease?" Louis says as he looks at all of us with a big grin on his face.

"I wish your mouth would cease." Violet says. Clement and I chuckle at her comment.

"(Dramatic gasp) how dare you!" Louis says as he acts like he is fainting. He then straightens up and says, "We kicked nineteen kinds of walker ass. And with style. Why not be proud?"

Marlon whistles, and Rosie runs toward him. Everyone got inside of the gates and went to do whatever would keep them occupied. As we enter the courtyard, AJ runs up to me and Clem.

"They're pretty good. With the monsters." AJ says as he looks between me and Clement. I then see Marlon walking over to us. I give him a smile and then look back at AJ and give him my full attention.

"C'mon, y'all," Marlon starts to say, but I see him about to put his hand on AJ's shoulder. Oh, no. "food's nearly-"

"Marlon don't-" I start to say, but I was too late to stop him from coming up behind AJ, as he elbows him in the groin and Marlon doubles over in pain. "Come up behind him." I finish as I wince at the blonde guy's situation.
