Daughters (TP5)

Anna sat on a chair on Lana's pool deck. She wouldn't swim, because she didn't have a bikini top to fit. She hated that her boobs were so big, but it was worth it for her cousin. She had to fight back tears when Tim texted her a photo of Amy holding her baby for the first time. They were staying with her, because her dad and Mari were in Ohio. Mason and Melissa had left earlier. They were nice and promised to come back to visit.

When Mason hugged her goodbye, he said, "We're family now."

She didn't really think, because her father was sleeping with his daughter it made them family. If they got married, then maybe she could see it. Still, they were both nice and never treated her weird, because she had a baby. She learned that not everyone judged others for their mistakes. She also knew that she didn't like those that did.

She looked over at Lana, who finally had to give up her tube. Ryan claimed that she cried when he deflated it. She said she asked him to deflate it so she wouldn't have to look at it. A little piece of Anna was jealous of Lana. Not that she was a grownup and had a husband but, that she could keep her baby inside of her. She heard her telling Alison that she was ready since her baby was almost full term. Anna was glad she wasn't pregnant anymore, especially since school would be starting, but she wished her baby could have gone home right away.

Lana looked at her. "Hey Anna, tell me the truth was it awful?"

"What?"

"The whole birth part."

Anna never thought it would scare a grown woman. She tried to remember. "It's weird but most of it's a blur. I remember it hurt but maybe because she was small it went kind of fast. Maybe I just blocked it out, but I would do it again."

Lana exclaimed, "Anna!"

She laughed. "No, no... I mean when I'm old like you."

"Old! I'm thirty! Now Ryan is old."

"My dad is almost thirty-six. Is he older than my dad?"

Lana laughed. "Yup. Maybe Mari will be the next one to have a baby."

Anna didn't know what she thought about her dad having a baby. She knew that he would be a good dad because he absolutely was. Maybe he deserved to not be a single dad for once. She knew that if he and Mari were serious enough to have a baby, then they would love each other enough to stay together.

As if she knew, she was thinking of her, Anna received a text from her mother. Met his girlfriend. Are they serious?

Anna thought for a moment and responded, Yes, he loves her.

She smiled because she was certain it was true.
