The party was really starting to kick off now, I nearly got knocked down to the floor several times as I made the somewhat perilous route towards the other end of the room - who knew that one little walk which was presumed as so easy could turn out to be the death trap that it was? I pushed through the thick crowds in the center of the dance floor and winced at the amount of sweat pouring off some of the guys. I mean, is it even possible to sweat that much? I whacked some nut-job's hands off my butt and pushed him away as he gave me evils, sighing at his stupidity.
Finally, I managed to make it to my destination without many casualties. My toes were flattened and my hair was probably in disarray, but that's what you get for trying to take a short-cut instead of cutting round the sides. I was never the one for taking the slow road, it took too much time to cautiously make my way round the edges of the room - and I preferred to jump in to the thick of things, anyway.
"Can I get you something?" Asked the guy at the bar, who was observing the party with a resignedly amused look on his face.
I remembered what my friends said and asked for a Diet Coke instead of going for the alcohol apparently I was already acting too drunk. I was only having a good time, but decided to stick to coke just in case - I wasn't in the mood for waking up with a killer hangover just yet.
The guy handed over an unopened bottle of coke and I unscrewed the lid taking a satisfying gulp of the lukewarm drink - apparently no-one had thought to invest in a drinks cooler or something. The guy from behind the bar gave me what was supposed to be a winning smile and I returned the smile with a strained one of my own. Ashy blonde hair, brown eyes - and definitely not my type. I turned on my heels and walked away, knowing his face had probably fallen at my rejection.
I did have to admit though I looked good. I passed a reflective surface and stared at my appearance; my long, bright blonde and ruffled hair which seemed to be permanently in disarray around my pale face, my tall body was encased in a short black dress and my long legs were covered by a ripped pair of tights.
No wonder guys were staring, I thought vainly. I normally wasn't this self absorbed, but it was one of those nights when I just couldn't help but feel a bit of pride towards my looks - the dark lights probably helped as well, since they kept my face in shadow.
Sighing, I started to head towards where I had last seen my group of friends whilst sipping some more of my drink, there was no sign of them but the room was crowded after all. I decided that I should head towards where I had last seen Samantha and the others in the hope that they were still there, I didn't feel much like being on my own for the party.
My vision was suddenly cut as I collided with a figure- tripping over it's feet and spilling my drink over the person in the process. What a waste of a good drink, I thought glumly to myself.
"Watch where you're going," I snapped to the person in front of me, dropping my drink bottle to the ground in exasperation.
The person chuckled to themselves and I looked up to see a pair of dark grey eyes staring down at me, twinkling with amusement. The eyes belonged to a guy - a very handsome guy actually. He was tall and pale with straight brown hair covering his dark grey eyes and reaching just below his ears in small curls. His perfect mouth twisted into a smirk as he saw I was staring at him - probably with my jaw dropping to the floor and a crazy stalker look as well. Admittedly, who couldn't look like that when encountering this guy for the first time? I quickly rearranged my expression back into one of annoyance and stared defiantly at him.
"I shall certainly keep that into account for when I'm next innocently crossing the room..." He grinned - did I mention he had totally perfect teeth? Probably not, teeth aren't really the things you go into detail with when describing a guy, except for this guy - he's an exception. "Hello?" The guy asked curiously whilst waving a hand in front of my face to see if I was still conscious.
