Chapter 24: The End Of The World

With my tomahawk I threw it at Kayaba but he knocked it out of the air. Luckily I was quick enough to grab it and I used the spike on the back to hit him. It was now Kirito and I began to back Heathcliff into a corner. However I saw Kirito lose focus and for a mere moment he used one of the programed skills and was unable to cancel it midway. Kayaba was easily able to block each and every strike. It was then Kirito's Dark Repulser broke after hitting Kayaba's shield. I could see the muscle movement of Heathcliff and could see that he was going to attack. I ran as fast as I could but I was to late to save him.

What happened next was a shock to us all Asuna jumped in front of Kirito taking the attack and dying much to our shock and Kirito's anguish. Heathcliff was also suprised he said that he had not programed away for a player to neutralize their own paralysis saying that he would need to fix that later. Kirito began to swing his sword with little effort. Heathcliff blocked the attacks and knocked Kirito's Elucidator into the air. I was quick enough to stop Heathcliff from killing Kirito but he ended up shattering my tomahawk with his shield and pushed me back.

Heathcliff then took that opportunity to stab Kirito this time killing him. "NO!!!" I yelled as I tried reach out to Kirito. I equipped my hidden blades and began to attack Heathcliff as fast as I could. "You killed him you killed them you MONSTER!!!" I yelled. "I still don't know why I allowed you to craft those weapons, I guess it was for amusement to see you lose a finger or blow off your hand" Heathcliff said.

As I continued to fight I saw something that truly amazed me. It was Kirito he hadn't fully pixilated he was fighting as hard as we could to stay alive. I jumped back and handed him Asuna's rapier he rubbed the jewel on the handle. "Fight for her" I whispered that made Kirito begin to swing fast at Heathcliff. However it still didn't stop Heathcliff's shield. It was then I decided to make the sacrifice as well. I ran as fast as I could at Heathcliff when Kirito went to attack Heathcliff blocked it. I jumped over Kirito and used the shield as a springboard. I made a finger gun symbol and fired my hidden gun at him. When the gun fired the ball shot out however the gun blew up and took of my hand.

The ball went through Heathcliff's shield leaving a tiny hole but still destroyed it Heathcliff stabbed me in the chest. The ball also pierced Heathcliff's chest surprising him. Kirito took that moment to stab Heathcliff in the chest killing him lowering his healthbar and killing him imstantly. "Check fucking mate" I said as I coughed as my health went into the red and I died.

No POV:

At that moment Heathcliff smiled at his defeat at the hands of these two players. Eventually all three of them died exploding into pixels. Throughout the world of Aincrad the message went out that the game had been finally cleared. We see Lisbeth with Nilo reading a book when they hear the message. We see Silica with Pina as they hear the message. Now we see Caynz and Yolko and Sasha hearing the message. Yulier and Thinker hear the message. The game had been cleared as of 14:55 on November 7th.

Y/N POV:

I immediately opened my eyes after I had just died to see myself in the sky. Out in the distance I could see a flying castle falling apart. I opened my menu instead of seeing what normally was there the menu read "Final Phase at 55%". I looked around for Kirito but he wasn't there I began to call out to him. I looked at the castle falling apart I could see the shop in Lindarth and my house fall down into the nothingness. "Do not worry they are alright" a voice said I looked over and saw the normal form of Akihiko Kayaba.

Seeing his face I punched him "I do deserve that" he said. "You deserve a lot more than that" I said. "I understand your distaste with me" Kayaba said "that is an understatement" I said. "Where is Kirito?" I asked "he is with Asuna they are watching the same sight as well" Kayaba answered. I took a sigh of relief knowing that they were okay. "What is happening down there?" I asked "the SAO mainframe is deleting all of it's data and all of Aincrad will be deleted with it in the next 10 minutes" Kayaba.

"Is Lis and Nilo okay will they be fine?" I asked "do not worry they and all the 6,147 survivors have been logged out of the game" Kayaba answered. "What about the others?" I asked "sadly the 3,853 players who died will not be coming back once you die in the game you die in real life, there is no coming back from death" Kayaba answered. I looked down "does that mean..." I asked "do not worry about that it was just an emotional test everything is fine" Kayaba said interrupting me.

I looked at the man who was the cause of all the pain and I experienced. "Why did you all of this?" I asked "honestly I can no longer remember why I built Aincrad, but since I was a young boy I always wanted to build a floating castle in the sky that surpassed all restrictions and laws" Kayaba answered. "It sounds amazing" I said "like I did with Kirito and Asuna I congratulate you Shi on clearing the game" Kayaba said. Suddenly after saying that Kayaba disappeared into thin air.

I sat there alone I whistled to myself then I heard a loud barking. I looked over to see Fenrir running over to me. He began to lick me all over. "Easy boy" I said Fenrir stopped and sat down next to me. "I'm sorry I didn't take you to the last boss fight but if I died I needed you to look after them" I said. Fenrir simply barked I laughed some and patted Fenrir's head. "Good boy, well I guess this is the end, it was amazing fighting along side you, I'm sure you're mother would be proud" I said.

No POV:

As Y/N and Fenrir stare off into the distance seeing the world of Aincrad disappear suddenly things turn white and the two dissapear into nothing. All we here his Y/N's voice say "I will find you".

Real World:

Now we are inside of a hospital room were we see Y/N's body on a hospital bed sleeping. The monitors beep slowly as Y/N wakes up. He slowly sits up and takes off the nervegear after two years. His long hair falls out of the helmet covering his face. Not caring Y/N removes all of the nodes and wires from his body causing the monitors to go off. Slowly Y/N gets out of the bed and grabs on to the IV stand and begings to leave his room. He opens the door and walks slowly down the hall. "Rika...Rika...Rika" I all he says as he continues to walk down the hall.

A/N: And that dear readers is the end of the first season of Sword Art Online and the end of the first series of the Hidden Player. It has been a real journey let me tell from the start to the long hiatus and finally the end. We have been through it all the ups and the downs and it has been amazing. I am proud to say that this is one of my most successful stories to date and trust me there will be more from here on then. Now the first chapter for the next story will be out on Friday I do not know what time exactly so be ready. The name will mostly stay the same other than the additional tittle. Like always I am grateful to say this as always thank you for reading and I will see you all later
