6. A Way Out

Minho huffed,

"Its true. We opened a door, something I'd never seen before. We think it might be where the grieves go in the day."

Chuck stepped forward between Thomas and Minho,

"Woah woah, you're saying you found the grieves home? And you want us to go in?"

Thomas nodded at the younger boy,

"Their way in could be our way out!"

Gally then opened his mouth from behind Thomas,

"Or it could lead us to a dozen grievers! The truth is Thomas doesn't know what he's done as usual!"

Then Thomas snapped and turned on his heel, he came face to face with Gally,

"Yeah well atleast I did something Gally what have you done, huh? Beside hide behind these walls all the time?"

Gally poked him in the chest,

"Listen here greenie you've been here three days alright? I've been here three years-"

"Yeah you've been here three years and your still here!"

That sent them into another round of arguing and no one noticed Teresa,

"Guys... GUYS!"

we all turned to look at her,

"Its Alby."

We all rushed to the med-jacks hut, Gally, Minho, Thomas, Teresa, (Y/N) and I.

We sprinted into the room and saw Alby sitting on his bed with his back to us,

I turned to Clint who was standing by the door,

"Has he said anything?"

(Y/N) asked concerned,

"No."

Was his only reply.

I walked around and stood beside Alby,

"Alby... you alright?"

I asked,

I tried to make eye contact with him but he wouldn't even look at me,

I could see tears in his eyes though.

Then Thomas crouched in front of Alby,

"Hey...hey Alby uh we- we may have just found a way out of the maze. We might be getting out of here."

That just made Alby cry more,

Alby shook his head,

"We cant... we cant leave."

I felt (Y/N) hand slip into mine and I squeezed it,

"What are you talking about?"

Thomas asked,

"I remember..."

Alby said,

We all traded worried looks,

"W-What do you remember?"

Thomas asked again,

Alby finally looked at him,

"You... you were always their favourite Thomas..."

We all stared at Alby in shock,

Then I heard something,

The sound of gladers calling to each other outside, and I glanced at the door just able to hear Alby say,

"Why did you do this to us?"
