Before I start Id just like to ask if anyone has vine, would they follow me or check out my edits. I work super hard on this account and my vine one. If you don't want to follow that's fine also! It's called ︎walkerbait :)
Our whole group had found its way back together. Abraham and the others had came back. They broke our dreams when they told us that Eugene lied, he was bruised up though. I think he deserved it. The church wasn't safe anymore.
We all piled up in a bus about two days back, but about 4 hours ago, it stopped. We were out of gas so we tried to walk to the nearest town, killing the occasional walker or so . It was far on the map, and the town name wasn't even labeled.
Carl and I had a thing. We weren't exactly dating as far as I knew, but the day we left the church, he kissed me. He hasn't kissed me since but he still flirts with me. Four hours of walking and I began to get exhausted. It was 6:00 pm when I checked my wrist watch.
I let out a huff, watching my feet kick the dirt in boredom. A hand grazed my fingertips, then laced its fingers through mine. I looked up at Carl, he held a sweet smile over his lips. I smiled back and began to walk a little faster due to my adrenalin.
"This seems really familiar." I heard my mom, Carol, say as we got closer to the town. We all nodded in agreement, I noticed mom and Rick wink at each other when they finally noticed Carl and I and my cheeks turned red.
"That's because it is." Maggie gasped as we stopped in the town. Flashbacks broke out in my mind and all the group from the beginning started to go through it too. I saw Ricks expression turn cold, I know what he was thinking. I saw him look over at the bar, I remember them talking about a big in-counter with two guys there.
That was the first time Rick had ever killed a man. "It getting late, let's find a place to sleep." He turned to the group.
"Can we please see if the farm is clear? Please! It'd only take about twenty minutes to get there." Beth begged, I could tell that her and Maggie's hearts had jumped a thousand times. This was their home, the place they were raised.
"No, it was overrun by walkers, it's not safe." Rick disappointed all of us. My face frowned. We were all sad about being here, but at the same time everyone wanted to go back for just a night.
The newer members of the group seemed confused. No one bothered to explain it to them just yet. Carl grasped my hand a little tighter looking at me then trying to bargain with his dad. "C'mon dad, let's just check if it's clear. We will be smart and safe about it. If it's not clear then we can head back to town."
"Imagine how many things we left behind." Daryl added in. Rick contemplated a few seconds, then everyone smiled when he gave in. "Alright fine, try to find supplies but only if it's clear or easy to clear. One night only. Then we get gas tomorrow and find new vehicles." He told us with a serious tone but you could hear the excitement in the back of his mouth.
We walked twenty minutes or so as Beth had said, and there it was. The beautiful old farm house, the barn, the acres of land. The sun was just now setting, I only saw two walkers in the whole entire field. We walked closer and Michonne took out her sword, putting the walkers down faster than you'd think.
We walked into the all familiar door step, Rick slowly opening the door. He banged on it for a couple minutes and to make sure, him and Daryl went through the whole house. It was safe. We checked the barn, only finding one walker. After all was clear, we began to ponder around again. I heard Rick explaining everything to the confused ones.
Beth sat on the porch step, looking around a smiling. She was thinking about her childhood. Maggie and Glenn had huge grins on their faces, I know they were remembering the time they met. Daryl walked out of the house looking very amused, I saw an extra bow in his hand. Must've lost it here.
I noticed Carl take off his hat, smiling at it then gently touching his stomach. We found this farm cause Carl was shot. Rick gave him the hat after he recovered. I could read everyone's mind. I looked around for mom. "Daryl did you see mom?" I asked.
If anyone was paying attention it'd be Daryl. I feel like sooner or later he'll be my step dad. "She walked out fast with somethin in er' hand." He told me looking around. I was the first to notice a kneeling figure by the barn.
I rushed over and I could see the back of my mom. Crying noises came from her so I quickly touched her shoulder. She didn't move, she just kept her hands down looking at her lap. I moved to the front of her. "Momma?" I looked at her questioningly before I noticed what was in her lap.
My heart sunk one thousand times. Memories began to flood into my mind. The barn, my older sister Sophia, the search, the hurt. "Momma don't cry" I tried to say, before I could keep my voice from cracking. My eyes watered and I sat down to my knees. Mom reached over and hugged me, her tears streaming down her face.
The group began to walk over, they stared at us. You could feel the sorrow that longed for momma. She pulled back from me a little. I looked over at Carl, an emotional frown was on his lips. My eyes stayed watery.
Daryl gently walked over, kneeling down and picking the doll from my moms hand. Sophia's doll. Mom grabbed him, and he picked her up, carrying her to the house.
We all settled inside the house, mostly trying to fit upstairs for safety. Maggie took her old room with Glenn. Beth kept suggesting that she sleep in her old bed downstairs, so michonne offered to stay down there with her and Noah made a pallet beside her bed. Daryl and mom took Hershel's room, which also had a futon. Abraham and Rosita squished into it.
Tara and Eugene made separate pallets on the floor. The last room had a twin bed. It was Beth's old boyfriend's room. We kept telling Rick to take it and finally he agreed, thanking us. We made a big pallet on the floor.
I laid next to Carl, his back was turned. I stared out the window, I couldn't stop thinking of all the things that Happened here. I could hear Rick's soft snoring.
"Y/n?" I heard Carl whisper to me, turning his head to face me. "I thought you were asleep." I whispered back sadly. "I thought you were too," he said trying to put on a calming smile.
"Listen." he scooted closer. "We've lost a lot of people here; Hershel's kin folks, Dale, Shane," he paused unsure of wether he should say it. "Sophia," I answered quietly for him. "Yeah.. But that's life. It's okay to miss them and sometimes be sad, but we still have each other." He pulled me closer, resting his hand onto my hips.
He moved his head in and for the second time our lips lingered. It wasn't one of those kisses where you leave your lips there the whole time, like our first kiss. It was one of those kisses where our lips moved around with each other, switching from top to bottom lip.
He pulled back. "Would you be my girlfriend?" He whispered, gently caressing my cheek as we laid down. "Of course." I said kissing his lips quickly once more. I pulled back and stared into his eyes, then he pulled me close to him and I fell asleep in his arms.
