You sat at your campfire for a few more minutes until it was reduced to ash. Pocketing it for later use, you brushed yourself off and moved on.

You walked for the better half of the day before the sky decided that you should be drenched. Abandoning your bundle of twigs; you frantically searched for cover. With the cold creeping in from the short time you've been here winter was about to set in. Soaked and freezing isn't exactly the best condition to be in when you're in the wilderness alone. You spotted a forest and hurried over.

Sheltered under a tree, you caught a flash of red amongst the dark pines. It quickly disappeared. You were tempted to investigate but common sense eventually outweighed your curiosity. It was probably just some hostile creature or a butterfly, anyway.

The rain didn't cease until dusk. Retracing your steps, you gathered your soggy twigs again. You looked for some grass to kindle a fire with, but you turned up nothing and it was amost night.  Fortunately, you had some in reserve.  Making the fire was pretty difficult due to the damp twigs but you managed. The dark still frightened you greatly, but it was almost easy to push it aside when your fire blazed in front of you. With your trusty flower still secure on your head, you drifted into a dreamless sleep.

You were awakened to the sensation of pain. It felt as though your stomach was trying to eat itself alive. Which made sense. You've only eaten a single carrot for the last five days.

You smacked another butterfly, bringing your grand total up to two. You had already shoved the other twelve down your gullet to prevent an unfortunate, painful death by starvation.  You were only still gathering so you could stock up before winter set in. Nabbing a few ripe looking berries and a couple wild carrots, you decided that should satisfy your needs for the time being.

You later stumbled across a boulder that looked like it contained a couple of gold veins. Actually, the biome you were in was full of them. You decided to take a crack at them tomorrow as it was getting dark once again.

Using up a good chunk of your meager grass collection, you got a campfire going. You crafted a pickaxe for tomorrow's planned excursion and quickly fell asleep.

The next day went pretty much as expected. You mined a good number of the gold-veined rocks and got about twenty gold pieces and a couple stacks of rocks and flint. You also found a grassy biome right next to this stone one and renewed your stores of cut grass. When you returned to the stone biome you decided to make a permanent base here as it was nestled between three biomes that would prove useful.

You made a fire pit and tossed in some logs. You also created a science machine so you could learn how to make new things that would help make your life a little easier. Your first new invention was a rope. Such creativity! You used it in order to make a straw bedroll as you didn't think you could sleep on the freezing, unforgiving stone beneath you. You spread it out onto the ground pretty close to the fire. It was itchy and smelled odd, but it was softer than the ground you'd been sleeping on since you got here.

Tallying the days in your head, you realized you'd been here a whole week. Thinking of the home you might never see again, tears welled in your eyes. You tried to blink them away but they just rolled down your face and onto the ground. Your breath started to hitch and hiccup as you swiped away the droplets with the backs of your shaking hands. You sobbed in earnest once you thought of your loved ones searching for you or going on without you.

You cried yourself to sleep.
