----Ezekial----
I woke up flustered. I had dreamt of being chased by wild goats and Akemi saving me. I didn’t want him to save me. I couldn’t believe Elijah was with him! I thought she liked me? That is what it seemed like anyways. I was the only one up and I slowly crawled out of the crowded bed. It was cloudy outside and smelt like a musty old basement in the breeze coming through the window. I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. I still had the sinking feeling in my stomach that had been there ever since last night when I first saw Elijah and Akemi together. I still couldn’t get over that. My mind had gone completely blank of the panic I had been in, in that moment. I grabbed the black pack back and took out a blue Aeropostale shirt and some new jeans. I sprayed cologne on me and put on Old Spice deodorant so I would smell super fresh.
I had to stay fresh for the ladies. Correction, lady. There was no one else here. If there was I would have already been making moves to get myself out of this funk and possibly make Elijah jealous. I slipped on my clothes right then and there since everyone was asleep. I panicked a little for a moment because Elijah didn’t really sleep hard since her D.N.A was transformed to cat senses and genetics. She didn’t seem to show any ready of being awake though. Also it was morning, she was nocturnal. Note to self do not change at night next to Elijah. .
I stuck my toothbrush in my mouth and walked down the hallway then realizing I was going the wrong way. I turned around only to find Elijah standing in front of me. Her hair was brushed, but she was still in her white tank top and sleeping shorts. “Howdy, partner.” She said turning around and walking into the kitchen. Her butt looked mighty fine in those shorts. Ah, don’t be thinking like that! Wait; if she was awake… does that mean she saw me change? My face showed the emotion of shock on it clearly for a few moments before I shook my head and following her into the kitchen.
“What’s for breakfast woman?” I asked being extremely prejudice in that joke.
“Ha! Make your own pancakes!” She called tossing me a box of instant pancake batter. It read: Just add water! She poured some of her bottle water into her batter cup and drizzled it on our portable battery powered saucer. I laughed and sat the box down.
“So, are you and Akemi… like a thing now?” I slowly asked afraid of the coming up answer. She stood there making her pancakes for a few moments without response. I almost began to think she hadn’t heard me. Then she curtly nodded her head and replied,
“Mhm.” My heart sank farther down.
“Oh.” I managed to croak.
“Why?” She curiously asked. I think she knew very well why I asked, but still, I had way to much pride to tell her the truth.
“Just wondering, because you guys were pretty friendly last night.” I joked, but the joke hurt, a lot. Maybe there were no more left to our old relationship. It had been a very long time ago anyways. It was time to build a bridge and move on. Or like Elijah would have put it; gather some supplies, begin constructing your bridge, take a coffee or donut break, finish constructing your bridge, get someone to test it out so you don’t fall through and die, then once it is sturdy, get over it! She said that sometimes. I laughed silently to myself thinking about it. I walked over to Elijah and sat on the counter. She flipped her pancake and dropped it on the paper plate. I grabbed her hand and playfully sang to her a popular love song. She began tapping the counter with her spoon and singing along. We couldn’t dance if our lives depended on it, but we attempted. I swung her arms around and she stepped on my feet. I finished it off by a sort of dunk type thing. It would have been cooler if I could kiss her then, but I couldn’t. She was gleefully smiling as I let go of her hand and she did a perfect cartwheel and Jazz hands for dramatic effect. How could anyone not want to be with Elijah? I had no clue howGriffincould not like her, even when he got so much attention from her because he’s the biggest flirt in the house. I could not understand.
