47. they're missing

Start from the beginning

Poppy lowered her arms to her sides. "We're not mad at you. Your only punishment is that you have to ride by car all the way back to school tomorrow with your dad."

Archie pouted, let down. "But mommy, why can't you come with us?" He asked, his voice small. He wanted his mother, he hadn't seen her in a long while, and he never saw her with Silas. Not really, anyways.

"I...I have to get back to Paris." Poppy frowned, not enjoying the feeling of letting her child down. It was just incredibly hard to be near her ex husband. The pain of his betrayal, the pain of everything that had happened, it got the best of her. Though the pain lingered, she felt that she had grown significantly. She learned more languages, she painted, she traveled. She put herself in less danger, and thought things through more.

Melody turned her head to look at her brother. "No, Archie. It's because dad has the same face as Grandpa Stefan." She said quietly. Having heard enough, and not wanting the discussion to go any further, Silas shook his head.

"That's enough." He spoke, and the kids both looked at him. "Go find a book to read." With that said, the kids stood up and left the room, leaving Poppy and Silas to stand together alone in the room. The witch looked at his ex wife, the guilt swirling inside of him, mixing with the worry. He wondered what was going through her head, why she truly didn't want to be around him.

Poppy looked at him and almost immediately she rolled her eyes. "Don't look at me like that." She said, hating how he still cared for her so much, hating how desperate he was. She couldn't stand another moment, so turning around she left the room, walking down the hall she had stepped into.

"No word from Kol or Hayley." Klaus spoke to the others in the room, lowering his phone from his ear, frustrated and worried that neither of them were picking up. He turned around to look at his brother and eldest daughter, who stood together. They had become almost inseparable, but that was a good thing, their relationship had been mended.

Poppy kept her arms folded over her leather jacket, her face expressing her worry and anxiety. "Try again." She told her father.

"What is the bloody point-"

"Niklaus!" Elijah exclaimed over his brothers upset fit. He raised his finger up in the air. "Try again!" He needed Hayley to answer. He needed Kol to answer. Almost right after he spoke those words, none other than Hayley marched into the room, making everyone look at her. She stopped beside Poppy, looking at the Original Hybrid.

Klaus watched as she stopped walking. "Where have you been?" He asked.

"Doesn't matter." Hayley replied. "Vincent told me everything. Is this really happening?"

Klaus let out a small breath and looked to his sister Rebekah, not knowing what to say about their plan to split apart the Hollow into four. "Assuming our other immortal brother answers the damn phone." She told the younger Hybrid.

"We still need to go get Hope." Hayley said. "Vincent said the Hollow is gathering a congregation at the church-"

"Then let's go get her-"

Hayley stopped Klaus before he could leave the room. "She's possessed, Klaus. Surrounded by followers. We can't just go running in there."

"Poppy can I talk you?" Hope asked as her sister walked by her bedroom in the hallway. She was nervous, and shy, and all she wanted was a few moments with her sister before she went back to Paris. She wanted to learn more about Poppy, and more about her dad. It wasn't fair, Poppy got to be with him all she wanted.
