Corruption - Sequel to Bad Neighbours

It was a humid day in California, which means it's not warm but it's not cold. I pulled the covers off my body and made my way downstairs where my mum and dad where standing with a cup of coffee being all flirty with each other.

" If I'm sick while eating my toast. I blame use " I said to them picking up my toast.

I instantly sat the toast back down on the plate and sighed. I decided i wasn't hungry anymore so i slid it over to my dad, he had his top off and had that stupid little cat face just above his nipple.

" Where you drunk when you got that thing? " I asked my dad, he looked at me.

" No actually. I wanted this because she was my only friend when my parents had divorced and she was so special to me. I decided to get a tattoo of her face there " he said.

" I swear use aren't my parents " I grabbed my jacket.

My dad wasn't normal near was my mum i swear they smoked weed one night because i could smell it, there always out at uncle teds. There not the usual parents there more like roommates. They hardly pay attention to me anymore. I'm not complaining but i want to have an actual Mum and Dad that treats me like am there daughter and not their friend.

I swear they still think there part of a fraternity.

" I'm Away, I'll 'Maybe' see use later " I sassed at them.

Petes P.O.V

Lilly was grown up now. It only seemed like yesterday she was still our little girl but now she's 17 and it's scary. I admit i miss being in a fraternity and with all my friends because am not good acting like a dad. I looked at my hands and sighed. Chloe came down and started to massage my back, she was doing it right. She started kissing down my neck.

It didn't feel right, I feel bad not being a proper dad to Lilly. Chloe knew something was up with me. She came and sat down next to me and took my hand my eyes meeting her beautiful blue ocean ones. She kissed my lips and placed her palm on my cheek rubbing it slightly.

" Come on Pete, what's wrong? " She asked.

" Are we good parents? " I asked her, she frowned.

" Of course we are. Why wouldn't we be? " she asked.

I scanned through many reason in my mind. We are adults now and we smoke weed we go out every weekend we hardly spend time with Lilly. We don't let her do anything. We don't talk much, all she does is mumble a few sentences and goes up to her room and plays her music and only come out when she's hungry or needs a shower.

" There is so many reasons Chloe. I can't help but feel guilty every time I see her " I told her, she nodded her head in agreement.

" I suppose we don't treat her as our daughter, we need to buck up our parenting skills " she slammed her fist on the island.

" What's one thing we can do to improve our parenting skills? " I asked Chloe.

" Give up smoking weed " She said, I glared at her.

" Apart from that "

" How about ask her what she wants? And what she needs us to do. To prove that we love her as a daughter and not as a friend " Chloe said.

I thought about it and thought it was a good idea, i looked at Chloe and smiled and gave her a hug. Today I'm going to start acting like a dad and to start of the day am going to pick her up from school and take her to get ice-cream and buy her a movie of her choice and we can watch it as a family.

I grabbed my car keys and headed over to the door leaving Chloe completely clueless. I gave her a kiss on the cheek what ended up to something heated.

" Where are you going? " She asked.

" Going to pick up my daughter like a proper father " I sassed and got into the car and headed towards the school.
