Covered in sweat and almost out of breath, Rey stops in the middle of the Klosslands' forest, focusing on her energy and her lightsaber. The brunette has been training for hours now but has no desire to call it a day. After days of knowing your true identity, Rey is still trying to work through her emotions. She hasn't seen you since she found out but that doesn't mean that she's stopped caring about you. She still cares about you dearly. She asks about you every day, making sure that you're okay and requesting regular updates from Finn and Poe every time they see you. Rey hasn't told anyone about your identity. Even though she's angry at you, she still wants an explanation before people find out.

After a quick rest, Rey opens her eyes and holds her lightsaber tightly before swinging it and exercising her abilities. She tries to concentrate solely on what she's doing but the memories of your identity and Kylo taking your body distracts her, causing her anger to surface. Rey tries to fight it but with each swing of her saber, the angrier she gets. She grips her saber even tighter and swings, turning around only to stop when she sees you.

She freezes on the spot, lowering her weapon and staring at you.

"We need to talk," you say simply.

"You think so?" Her tone is heavy with sarcasm, which is so unlike Rey but she's angry so you understand.

"You're angry," you say.

"You lied to me!" She hisses.

"I didn't lie. I just didn't tell you something but I can see how you think that I did."

"Are you feeling better?"

"Yes."

"Good." Rey reaches into her bag and tosses something at you.

You catch it only to realise that it's your lightsaber.

"It's a good weapon, I'll give you that. Durable and easy to use."

"You've been practicing with it."

"I wanted to see if it was real now let's see how it fairs against another saber."

"Rey," you sigh but the woman raises her blade at you, causing you to ignite your own and block her attack deftly.

"Why didn't you tell me?" She probes.

"Because it was for your own good."

"My own good or yours?" She forces you back and goes to attack but you block it once more.

"Both."

"Both?" She frowns. "How was NOT telling me that you're a Gray Jedi for our own good?"

"Because you were going through a lot of stuff - trying to figure out who you were and so was I. I didn't want you worrying about me."

"We're a couple! We're supposed to worry about each other and help each other!" Rey grits her teeth and executes several moves and you think you simply agitate her further when her attacks don't phase you.

"Rey, you need to believe me when I say that it was for the best."

"How long have you known who you were?"

"A few years now. I always knew there was something different about me since I was a kid but I only came to terms with who I was only recently."

"How long ago is a "few years"?"

"Not too long before we started dating. I spent a lot of time thinking about who I was and studying the ways of the Gray Jedi. I isolated myself so I could figure out who I was and practice who I was. Then I met you."

"And what, I stopped you?"

"No, I fell in love."

"Don't do that."

"Do what?"

"That. This is serious and I'm not in the mood for joking around."

"I'm not joking around, Rey! I mean it! Look, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you sooner but I was comfortable with who I was and I was more focused on helping you find out who you are and helping you on your journey. If I told you who I was, it would have conflicted you and I didn't want that."

"Conflicted me? How could that have possibly conflicted me?" Rey swings at you again but you dodge her attack and swing your saber that she deflects.

"Because I can feel it in you, too, Rey - the Light and the Dark and you and I both know that you're terrified of the Dark."

Rey pauses, her eyes blaring into yours. You can still feel her anger and frustration but now you feel a sense of calm but it's only minute and brief.

"How do you balance it then? The Light and the Dark?" She asks.

"I learned the ways of them both. It's not as complicated as some might think."

"How do you not fall to the Dark Side?"

"I've learned not to. Just as Jedi's learn not to - I don't either."

"But you don't fall to the Light Side either."

"No. I've found that the Dark Side has very useful and powerful methods just as the Jedi do. It's all about balance, Rey. The Gray Jedi are the only ones who can truly bring balance to the Force."

"No," she shakes her head. "They're not."

"We are, Rey. There is no light without darkness," you begin but it only angers Rey as she continues to attack you but you proceed to recite the Gray Code. "Flowing through all, there is balance. There is no peace without passion to create. There is no passion without peace to guide. Knowledge fades without the strength to act. Power blinds without the serenity to see. There is freedom in life. There is purpose in death. The Force is all things and I am the Force."

"Ah!" Rey bellows, throwing another hard swing at you but you raise your lightsaber to meet hers as the two of you lock eyes.

"I can feel the anger in you, Rey. It's strong and it makes you powerful and you can use it but do not succumb to it completely or else you WILL be lost."

"I will never turn to the Dark Side."

"But you have, Rey. You've used it before - I've seen you."

"How?"

"Your anger. Just like now, you're using it to fight me. I can feel it in you. It makes you powerful. I feel it in you all the time when you fight and you can feel it, too, deep down you can and you know."

"I will NEVER harness the Dark Side." She pushes you away angrily.

"You don't have to, Rey. A Gray Jedi walks the line between Light and Dark. They can harness both the Dark and Light side without succumbing to either of them. With that power, they are the ones who truly DO bring the balance to the Force."

Rey steps back from you, catching her breath. You watch her carefully then holster your saber.

"I'm not trying to force you into anything you don't want to do, honey," you tell her. "I'm just telling you who I am and telling you that it's not bad. I'll never turn to the Dark Side but I will try my utmost to bring balance to the Force. If you want to train to be a Jedi as you have been, then you do that and I will support you but if you want to train to be a Gray Jedi, then I will support you and I will help you. I know you don't want to hear much more but... I would like you to consider learning about the Gray Jedi just so you can gain some understanding and so you can understand who I am."

Rey catches her breath, looking down at her lightsaber then back up at you. It's hard to tell what she's thinking but you feel that she has calmed a little as have you.

"Alright," she answers. "Tell me who you are."

"Thank you," you nod, relief washing over you. "But first, we need to eat. You must be exhausted."

Rey nods then proceeds to the canteen with you following. You want to hold her hand but you know that will be overstepping the boundaries and you don't want to ruin things just when you've calmed Rey down.
