"You have a hickey." She laughed and I swiftly put on the scarf and looked out the window. Picking up on the obvious fact I didn't want to talk about it she didn't press me further.
"So do you want me to drop you home or do you want to hang?" she asked changing the subject I smiled.
"Well I wasn't planning on spending the day in my room so obviously were going to hang, though I do need to change." She nodded a small smile on her face.
"When did you leave, actually how did you get home?" I questioned feeling bad as we were supposed to leave together. I glanced at her and she had gone quiet.
"Elijah drove me back he didn't drink so he was able to drive." She replied and I nodded laughed nervously and I narrowed my eyes at her hoping she'd crack but she just focused on the road.
Once we arrived I got changed and we headed off to meet Parker. As we entered the park a slight breezed rustled the multi-coloured leaves attached to the trees' tall spears, making many of them fall to the ground. Despite the cool breeze the day was warm due to the beams of sunlight glowing from above. I've always loved the park though that's mostly because of my inner child. Flowers are vast, and they conceal the freshly cut green grass that had already been littered with leaves. The pathway is nothing more than dirt littered with random rocks. The gravelled paths lined with deciduous trees. The park covered a wide area that could fit about three small houses. It was hilly with a tall tree or two near one hill. There were benches for people to sit in every corner and s large jogging track expanded around the edges of the park. The west corner had some swings too on which many children came to play. Flower hedges and bushes grew all around; this made the park look more pleasant and attractive. This place would have been most beautiful at this time; it would have been so pleasurable to relax here and take in some cool fresh air so that's exactly what I was planning to do. I was going to relax with my friends and push down all my drama for the rest of the afternoon.
Well I had planned to but obviously nothing wants to go my way sitting with Parker was Adrian. My smile dropped and an awkwardness surrounded me. I looked down and sighed. Great!
"Hey ladies, how are you?" Parker called out as he slid off the metal bench and walked over to us embracing us both in a brotherly hug. I speared a glance at Adrian he was sitting on the bench his foot resting on the seat he wore a dark fitted jeans and another buttoned up shirt that wasn't tucked in like his outfit last night, he wore his signature leather jacket with a smirk. He saw me looking at him and I quickly looked away embarrassment sinking into me.
"Parker, hey." I said trying to distract myself from the flips my stomach was doing. He threw his arm around my shoulder and steered me to the bench, I made sure to sit as far away from Adrian as I could manage. I think he noticed because there was a small crease in-between his eyebrow indicating he was frowning. I didn't like it being awkward, but I couldn't get over what had happened, sure we didn't go all the way and sleep with each other but some stuff did happen.
"Hey Bug, can we talk?" He asked and I looked at him I was about to agree when my phone rang relief flooded me and I sent him an apologetic look.
"Maybe another time, I need to take this." I said not looking at him. instead I got up and walked over to the swing whilst answering the phone.
"Hello?" I said
"Hey Scar." My mom's voice drifted into focus causing me to smile.
"Mom hey. You okay?" I asked slightly worried.
"Err y-yes I'm fine. Could you come home please? I need to talk to you." She said. Something about the way she said it set off warning bells within me.
"Okayy?" I said unsurely, She muttered a quick okay before cutting the call. I began to feel anxious. Walking back over to my group. I smiled "Sorry guys but I have to go," I announced receiving sad looks from them. I rolled my eyes. "Dude we will see each other at school. I'm sure you will survive without my commentary until then." I mused hugging Roxy Parker stood up dramatically and pulled me into his chest.
"I will count the seconds until your return Miss. Scarlett." I giggled at his stupidness. Adrian attempted to hug me but I pushed his chest back and awkwardly and walked off Adrian jogged up to me and stood in front of me blocking the gate. His arms were crossed and an annoyed look was plastered onto his face. I raised a brow at him.
"You're ignoring me Scar. I get your embarrassed but talk to me at least." He said his voice indicated how annoyed he was, I sighed shaking my head.
"I don't have time for this Adrian, I need to get home, excuse me." I said my voice void of any emotion. I tried to slip past him, but he grabbed my wrist.
"What the hell did I do?" he asked exasperated. I tried tugging my arm from his grasp, but he didn't let go.
"Leave it alone Adrian. I need to go." I said irritated. He glared at me for a moment before letting my wrist go.
"You know it was you all over me last night. If I was that horrible to be around you sure as hell didn't seem to think so last night. You were practically begging for me. But I said no. I respected you." He said harshly. Anger bubbled up inside me and I didn't even realise what had happened until I felt a stinging sensation in my hand. I looked up and there was a small red blotch on Adrian's cheek. I slapped him.
"Fuck you." I spat loudly as I stormed off down the road. He called after me, but I ignored him. How dare he!
I had just reached my front door when I noticed it was slightly ajar. Cautiously I pushed it open inspecting the hallway, nothing seemed off so I carried on and quietly shut the front door behind me. But as I stepped into the front room my heart leapt into my chest. There lying on the floor not moving was Eric. I rushed over to him and shook him, he didn't wake so I checked his pulse, he was alive just unconscious. Relief flooded through me until I felt something cool being pressed against the back of my head. A gun.
