I thought it would only be fitting to do a coronavirus chapter, and I've got all the time in the world seeing as I finished high school 3 months early. It's set in 2020. You and Chandler are around 28. Stuff like lockdown regulations might be a bit different from the way it is in your country - I've based it off the UK at the time of writing as that makes the most sense to me. Boris Johnson (our prime minister) did a big Downing Street address last night telling us to only leave the house for shopping or one form of exercise per day, and we can't go out in groups of more than two. These are strange times.

This is just a short one as I've had a bit of writer's block at the moment but I know you guys wanted another one so here it is.

Manhattan is on lockdown.

Curfew, schools closed, shops closed, isolation... we're not allowed to meet in groups of more than two anymore. This is all so surreal. I keep thinking I'll wake up, and this'll all have just been a bad dream, and we can all go back to normal. I heard this is the first time UK schools have had to close since World War Two. The fact this is affecting the whole world kind of freaks me out as well. Nowhere to run.

I need company. I live alone in a one-bed apartment, and I'm starting to lose patience. Being asthmatic means I'm in a vulnerable group... meaning I have to self-isolate for 12 weeks. Three months with barely any human contact. Great. I pace up and down the halls of my apartment restlessly, my stack of books and nintendo switch lying forgotten on the table. I'm starting to get bored, fast, and I know if I had someone to talk to I'd be okay. I decide to bend the rules a little and step outside my apartment, knocking on the door next door. Two men around my age answer.

"Hey, I'm [Y/N]," I say tentatively, "I was wondering if I could come in... I'm going to lose my mind if I spend another hour on my own."

"Sure, sure. I'm Chandler, and this is Joey," says one of them. "I hope you don't mind birds."

"As in...?" My question is answered before I ask it, as a chick and a duck waddle in from the bathroom. "Aw, they're so precious! What're they called?"

"Chick and Duck." says Joey.

"Imaginative." I comment, sitting on the couch.

Two weeks later, I've been at Joey and Chandler's longer than I've been at my own place. Chandler and I are huddled together on the couch, watching a movie, and Joey's in the kitchen looking for food. "We're out of food," he announces. "I'll go out and get some, you two make sure you don't catch corona while I'm gone."

"Shouldn't we be warning you not to catch it-" I begin, but he's already gone, leaving Chandler and me alone. His arms are wrapped around me and my head is resting on his shoulder, and I can't help thinking about what it would be like to kiss him. To be honest, I've been having thoughts like that for the past week, but I've tried to push them away because he'd never like me. "I guess it's just us, then." This is the first time we've been alone. Chandler did the shopping last week, and I'm supposed to do it next week.

"I guess so," he mumbles. "it's just us..."

"It is..." I whisper, realising our faces are inching closer and closer together. I close my eyes as he kisses me slowly, carefully, gently. He cups my cheek as my hands rest on his chest, and I feel Chandler lowering me down so I'm lying on my back and he's on top. The pace of the kiss picks up gradually as I undo his shirt, his own hands reaching to pull off my hoodie. Wordlessly, we know what each other wants, what we're doing, what this could become, and for the first time in this lockdown I don't feel so alone anymore.
