Hello Beautiful (Jimin x Reader)

Professor: "Alright students, I know you all have been working hard on your senior projects here lately, but I wanted to announce that starting today we will have a project based on this class only."

Oh great, I think to myself, hopefully it won't be as difficult of a project as our senior one is. As I am thinking I hear numerous groans from across the classroom, signifying I'm not the only one who thinks this way.

Professor: "It's a partner project that will be due two weeks from today."

Partner project? The only people I actually know in this class are Jungkook and....Mark.

I look over at Jungkook, and he nods towards me, silently telling me that we would be partners. Before I could nod back, the Professor's voice cuts through the air.

Professor: "Now for the sake of fairness, I will be picking your partners for you."

I lay my forehead on my desk in despair.

I feel someone pat me on the back, and I lift my head up and see Jungkook.

Jungkook: "Maybe he will put us together Y/N, don't worry too much."

It's as though the Professor always knows when I am about to speak to Jungkook, as he interrupts us once again.

Professor: "When I call your number please raise your hand."

For a few minutes the Professor call out two numbers, who are then partners. Luckily, mine or Jungkook's numbers haven't been call out yet.

Neither has Mark's...

Professor: "Number 23 Y/N!"

I raise my hand, praying for a miracle.

Please say number 24, please say number 24, please say number 24.

Professor: "and number 22 Mark! You two are partners."

Damn it... the universe is just messing with me now. The one guy that my boyfriend, and I agree with avoiding is now my partner for this stupid project.

Jimin is going to be...

Mark: "Hey Y/N, did you hear we are partners! Looks like we can finally schedule that lunch after all."

I turn my head to Mark, putting on a false smile.

Y/N: "I heard, that's-"

Professor: "Alright since partners have all been called out, I'll set you guys out a bit earlier to get a head start. Dismissed!"

Honestly, the Professor must have a Y/N is about to speak detector or something. Oh well, it got me out of talking to Mark.

I gather my things and look over at Jungkook who is talking to his partner. Deciding not to disturb him, I walk out of the classroom into the empty hallway.

I guess Jimin's class hasn't let out yet, I'll wait for him here.

I decide to pass the time by looking at my phone, when I feel a tap on my shoulder. I look up and I am face to face with my partner.

The new one unfortunately...

Mark: "Do you want to eat lunch together to discuss the project, so that we can get a head start on it? It sounds like it could take quite a few days to finish it."

Y/N: "Today might not work for me, I already promised Jimin that I would eat with him today, and I don't like to break plans."

Mark shakes his head at me.
